CONFUCIUS ,   SAFED CHINA   (03.19.14)
How to get people to hate you? simply tell them the truth ....
2. Obama hates hearing the truth.
Ben S ,   Free World   (03.19.14)
3. Kerry complaining
Alice ,   Israel/Canada   (03.19.14)
Mr. Aya'alon has the right to express his feelings about Obama and his Administration. Nothing wrong with it. Kerry is complaining because the truth hurts.
4. U.S. is weak on Iran.
Ben ,   USA   (03.19.14)
5. Ya'alon is going to be the next Israeli Prime Minister
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (03.19.14)
Why doesn't Kerry have the cojones to speak to Ya'alon directly for a clarification. He just tittle tattles to Bibi. Ya'alon proves himself right yet again
6. Don't mess with Yaalon
Israeli 2   (03.19.14)
He is doing G-d's bidding. Besides...he is telling the truth. I noticed how easy it is to demand an apology from Israel. Time has come for new leadership and a new type of government.
7. Ya' alon hates America
sheik rattle & roll ,   USA   (03.19.14)
He is the most anti-American defense minister the State of Israel has ever had. On top of that he is spending 3 billions dollars to prepare for war with Iran. It is no coincidence that this was released to the press when he is attacking the US. He is saying publicly we can do without your aid.
8. DM Ya'alon's comments are not in the least "confusing"
CJK   (03.19.14)
ya'alon's criticisms of obama's policies are correct and to the point. ever since obama became president, his policies in all areas have undermined world stability and peace: egypt, lybia, syria, iraq, iran, afghanistan, pakistan. obama's obsession with the arab palestinians and his numerous insults of pm netanyahu have undermined israel diplomatically and have given aid and comfort to islamist terrorists. obama's demand that israel freeze building in jerusalem, obama's demand that israel release hundreds of convicted mass murdering arab terrorists, are clear signs that obama is hostile to israel and her interests. obama's engagement with the premier terror state iran, and his interim deal which leaves iran's nuclear weapons program intact, is a direct threat to israel's national security. the fact that obama negotiates with iran without demanding that iran stop exporting terror, without demanding that it stop arming its terror proxies which wage war on the jewish state, and without demanding that iran stop helping assad's genocide of the syrian people, proves that ya'alon's criticisms are very much correct.
9. Kerry & Obama : Overly sensitive schoolgirls
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (03.19.14)
10. Yaalon's defense of Israel
PJ ,   US   (03.19.14)
If you agree or disagree with Putin, when he takes a stance and criticizes the world in defense of Russia, the Russians support him. When Yaalon defends Israel against policies detrimental to Israel, the Jews should wholeheartedly support him and not act like a banana republic.
11. Obama's not just weak on Iran
Mordechai   (03.19.14)
He's also weak on Russia too. Its not antisemitism its incompetence. Its unfair to suggest Obama is refusing to stand up to Iran when the problem is he is just over is head and has no idea what he is doing without reading his words of a screen.
12. Finally
Paul ,   Kenya   (03.19.14)
a man who puts the interest of Israel and the Jewish people first. They hate him because he is not another American puppet - a true Jewish warrior and statesman.
13. Obama and Kerry should keep promises
Yaron ,   NY   (03.19.14)
You cannot blame the defense minister for looking out for the security of his citizens. After all that is his job. However the fact that in recent months Kerry has been promising to act and secure Israels best interests and then go ahead and ask for settlement freezes, prisoner releases and not focusing on true interests like Iran. The Obama administration is the only one at fault for the bad relations between the two country's. It is a shame that he is what the american public voted to represent them. God bless Israel and keep building.
14. The U.S. does not deserve an apology
Devorah   (03.20.14)
public or otherwise. The truth does not require apologies.
15. #7 I doubt it
(03.20.14)
I doubt Ya'alon hates America, but we know who does. Kerry falsely accused American soldiers of war crimes. Obama spent 20 years and baptised his girls in a church that said "God damn America".
16. Kerry threatened Israel with 3rd intifada
Philippe ,   Raanana   (03.20.14)
Kerry threatened Israel with another intifada if Israel does not fold up and gives all its assets for a worthless piece of paper full of american guarantees ( see their exact Worth in Ukraina now ).Kerry-Obama are the worse pair of shlemazels the world encountered : a pair of snobbish arrogant nullities who still think the world and Israel first should listen to their idiotics preaching when actually their are sabotaging out of their indiviudual weakness-inconsistancy-fecklessness the western world. It's time to call a spade a spade ; Kerry-Obama are grandiose failures-Yaalon is 100% right.
17. yaalon is correct kerry is a zero.
alan ash ,   nyc   (03.19.14)
Yaalon is correct . Kerry is a zero , Americas misguided plans are destroying everything.
18. Kerry's Response Proves American Weakness
Aharon   (03.19.14)
If the US administration was truly as strong as it believes, they would not be bothered by Ya'alon's comments. However, their responses just shows how insecure Kerry and Obama are.
19. kerry the critic
gershon ,   London uk   (03.20.14)
Look this guy Kerry and his boss O B have given in on syria, given in on iran, libya and Egypt and now given on crimea. They gotta talk tough to SOMEBODYfor crying out loud or they WILL lose complete clout in the world. So start up with Israel - easy, friendly, loyal ally. Now your talking! much easier!
20. Yaalon, Israeli politics and the United States
Jacob Edelman ,   New York,USA   (03.20.14)
Ever since he became Prime Minister in 2009 Benjamin Netanyahu has presided over Israeli governments intent on making war rather than building peace. As a result the hawks in the Israeli society with any plans to assume a leadership role in politics have to up the ante now to enlarge their popular base. As a result we see largely hysterical outbursts by those vying for primordial role in Israeli politics and/or have ambitions to become Prime Minister in the near future by appealing to the darkest instincts of Israeli society. Moshe Ya'alon is doing just that forgetting the simple fact that the American people have paid a huge price to prop Israel and defend it in International arena. Whether it is President Obama, Kerry or another administration, the insults that Ya'alon is hurling against the current administrations are insults against the American people and we will not forget or forgive.
21. the obsession
Susan ,   USA   (03.20.14)
We must remember since time immemorial we Jews have lived under a double standard. The 'other' head of state or general or Prime Minister, or non Jew on the street can say whatever he or she chooses. A Jew or those in the Jewish state must pick and choose what he or she says. Why? Newsflash: Our passivity as Jews coupled with our continual desire to please feeds the obsession. Despite our great accomplishments, we are starved for approval. (With no disrespect, I call this the 'Shimon Peres syndrome.') Around and round we go....the more one is obsessed with me(the Jew/the Jewish state) the more we cower the more the obsession gains momentum. When we realize our opinion is our opinion and stand our ground with it/for it; for our betterment, some of the innate obsession will loose a bit of momentum.
22. 'Clarified'
GS ,   Germany   (03.20.14)
In the end of the day we learned that Mr. Ya'alon 'clarified'. Not apologized. Excellent!
23. Mr. Yaalon apologized.
GS ,   Germany   (03.20.14)
Whatever: He showed strength and get's more and more support. Worldwide.
24. Lashing Ayalon...
yosef, phd ,   florida - israel   (03.20.14)
The nerve that the white house has !!! Most inept, weakest president in U.S. history - Hussein Obama (also closet muslim) brazenly interferes with Israel's foreign policies, as if they were his own f ^$ing backyard. Truth hurts, blabbermouth, does it not?! Speedily the "pres" is becoming the laughing stock of the world, but is protected of knowing it by his inflated Ego...
25. the white house can dish it out, but it can't take it!
tom ,   toronto, canada   (03.20.14)
how many times has kerry (and obama) dumped on netanyahu? and have they ever, even once, "apologized"? ya'alon was absolutely right, kerry should either get his nobel prize or not, but either way he should stop undermining israel to score cheap points with the arabs. releasing another 200 convicted terrorist murderers is NOT the way to real peace.
26. #7 Telling the truth is not hateful
Benji ,   US   (03.20.14)
Wish the Obama leadership was strong and effective in global politics. But that is not the case. Kerry can't take constructive criticism so he goes on the defensive.
27. #23 comes before #22 and the truth is:
GS ,   Germany   (03.20.14)
#25 Tom: Said it all and hit the target. // Israel, you don't need any advice because you already know what to do. (Be strong and courageous.)
28. Excuse me, but ....
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.20.14)
... if Kerry cannot stand the heat, he needs to get out of the kitchen. And since when are American political figures immune from criticism? Is it any wonder no one really takes the current U.S. administration seriously? They're all worthy of criticism, not to mention outright ridicule.
29. What did Ya'alon say that is not true...
(03.20.14)
...and for which he has to apologize? Obama, Kerry, Hagel and indeed this entire corrupt and rotten Obama administration has gotten spoiled with all the hollow praise heaped on them by the US lapdog liberal media. They are not used to being described as they really are...arrogant, weak, indecisive and useless; a true disgrace to the US. When it comes down to it, they can only spy on and bully their own citizens and the State of Israel. This too will stop eventually as the American people and hopefully the IsraelIis will begin to shun this tin pot dictator and his bully junta. Hussein Ob.ama is playing checkers on the world stage while Putin is playing professional chess. America ought to beembarassed wirh her choice of this dunce as its so-called "president".
30. To: No. 7
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.20.14)
Shh.... I'll tell you a secret: Israel does not need the United States. Not politically, and not militarily. And if Israel decides to go against Iran, Obama will be the last one to know. He was, after all, pretty far down Netanyahu's To-Call list following the interdiction of the vessel the CLOS-C. That should be a pretty big hint. The intelligence provided by Israel to the United States far outweighs the value of ANYTHING that the United States provides to Israel, including a veto at the United Nations. Keep in mind that Israel can simply withdraw from the United Nations (there are a great many Israelis who think we should), at which point in time a United States veto becomes irrelevant. The intelligence that Israel provides to the United States cannot be sourced from any other country or group. The United States has excellent satellites, but the orbits are common knowledge, and everyone knows when to hide the important stuff. Israeli satellite orbits are changed often enough so as to make them unpredictable. Moreover, the United States has ZERO intelligence on the ground anywhere in the Middle East -- and there is absolutely no substitute for human intelligence and boots on the ground in places you cannot begin to imagine. I think you should show a little gratitude. You don't really think you could have found bin Laden without us, do you?
