1. Arab Palestinians need to negotiate with the Jewish State
CJK   (03.20.14)
rather than go begging to various world powers that which they cannot give, the arab palestininas need to sit down and negotiate with the jewish state of israel. it is understood that negotiating with the jewish state is very hard for the arab palestininas, but they have no other choice since israel is holder of what they want.
2. Its a ridiculous pantomime!
Sammy ,   Newcastle   (03.20.14)
The moment they get in front of the cameras...out comes...garbage Yesterday Son of Abbas proclaims he wants all Palestinians to become Israelis - or is it all Israelis to become Palestinians? Or is it everyone to become Israpals or Palisras? Today we hear Al Malki suggesting he hasn't a clue about how to proceed anymore out of ideas out of energy so he wants to invite...others into the talks! Hard enough a threeway negotiation let alone more.... Then we hear that better than negotiations we will be far better off pursuing Statehood in the UN as if by magic rather than having direct negotiations with ...Israel....so sounds like another step to nowhere Time and again and right from the start we have said we DONT want this public charade or pantomime. We want serious negotiations to continue step by step out of the glare of media - however long it takes till a Resolution is reached that is good for us both
3. #1 correction
(03.20.14)
Read the PLO and Hamas Charter: the Palestinians do not need to negotiate with a "Jewish State". The Palestinians need to liberate their land. If the Americans won't deliver the Jews, then maybe the Europeans will.
4. Navel of the world
Raphael ,   Netanya   (03.20.14)
The Palestinians, in the middle of the turmoil of the arab spring, are deeply frustrated not to remain under the spotlight, and their cheerleaders are begging for some applause from the Eurodhimmies. Histrionics are far more important than reaching any negotiated solution.
5. Peace will be attainable when the fundamental cause of the
N.L.Katz ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (03.20.14)
conflict is addressed: The categorical objection by the Arabs - Muslim-Arabs to be precise, not the Christian-Arabs or the Druse-Arabs, mind you!! - to accept the Jewish people's RIGT to exercise its universally accepted right of national self-determination and independence on ANY parcel of land of the Jewish people's ancestral homeland. A way to demonstrate a change of heart and mind on the part of the Arabs is to accept Israel's RIGHT to be, to exist as the sovereign nation-state of the Jewish people. Without such change of heart and mind there is no reason Israel should make additional concessions to the many and risky ones it has already made during the past 20 years, only to have received in return an on-going objection to Israel's RIGHT to exist as the national home of the Jewish people.
6. Pal goal is for Israel to hand over the country to them.
Sam ,   Canada   (03.20.14)
So, what are Palestinian rights and Palestinian goals as they see them? They don't want to say it clearly because it's not politically correct to say Israel should hand over the country to them. They have to pretend instead that they want a 2 state solution when all their demands say in reality that they want a Jewish majority Israel to disappear. The West plays along and tells Israel to work it out.
7. The EU is non-grata in Israel

8. "International community"
Hunt S Cross ,   England   (03.20.14)
Regrettably Prof Gilboa is wrong in his evaluation of the "international community", at least as regards the EU. Just because it isn't prepared to engage seriously with the daily life and death struggle going on across Syria doesn't mean they won't pick on what they think is an easy target, Israel. Left-wing politics, ambitions for a post-American world role and anti-Semitism are happy bedfellows. Obama's one-sided pressure helps make the mattress comfortable for them.
9. problem is who can replace the US?
zionist forever   (03.20.14)
Russia which has allied itself with Syria & Iran? The EU with their representative to the region Catharine Ashton? The UN who are not exactly famous for being even handed when it comes to Israel? The Arab League who would like to see an end to Israel full stop? In the US Obama & his cronies might be very anti Israel but we do at least have friends there. Nobody else even has influence over Israel because nobody else gives Israel weapons and political support. The US might not be the ideal broker especially under the Obama regime but there is nobody that can do a better job.
