1. Tough choices.
Gideon Reader   (03.24.14)
Let's see. Piss off the nations of a continent that in recent history attempted the total anihilation and permanent destruction of the Jewish people, and annoy others who are looking for shirt term political nachas and Nobel gifts; comfortable with piecemeal murder and terrorism, or... expand and nurture the brightest and best hope of the continuation of the history of Jews in their own land. Tough choices. Gimme a dakot or two. Uh,...OK,...Livni & Erekat get to take a trip to what is left of the UK and go on Strictly Come Dancing, and Judea-Samaria & the Golan stay with Israel. Darn. Some choices are in Sophie strata. Maybe even creating a cordon sanitaire in what is the port-a-potty of Aza.
2. Erekat's boss and his "3 NOs"
M. Davison ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (03.24.14)
It would seem to any normal, logical person that the greatest obstacle to a peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians is Mahmoud Abbas' adamant refusal to declare that a peace agreement will signify the end of the conflict and the end of Palestinian demands. One should ask, "If a peace signed peace agreement won't end the conflict and Palestinian demands, then WTF are we negotiating with the Palestinians for?" Erekat is a worm doing the bidding of his master, the Arab League puppet, Mahmoud Abbas.
3. Jordan Valley Area Real Problem
Zechariah   (03.24.14)
If millions of Palestinians pour into a Palestinian State IDF security control of the Jordan valley area Parts of Judae and Samaria is essential for the Jews.A Land Swap with Islamic Israel will have to be not minor but considerable and Jewish Control over Security and Immigration Paramount.
4. 23 Islamic states were illegally created.
BUTSeriously ,   Sydney   (03.24.14)
Jews & Christians predate Islam in Arabia. World must cease calling Arabs as Palestinians and create a Coptic State in Jordan. Shame on the Vatican & Christians for calling Muslims as Palestinians and Samaria as West Bank - these are enormous crimes.
5. He thinks Israel is to blame?
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.24.14)
So, the "Palestinian" refusal to recognize Israel as the Jewish State had nothing to do with the failure of these "negotiations?" How about the "Palestinian" stubborn refusal to abandon "right of return?" How about insistence on freeing murderous terrorists -- not just "Palestinians" from Judea, Samaria and Gaza, but Israeli Arabs? The time has come for Israel to simply annex Judea and Samaria and repatriate all those instantly undesirable foreign nationals to Jordan, country of their citizenship. Good riddance!
6. Bla,Bla,Bla. Pals refuse to compromise,blame Israel.
Sam ,   Canada   (03.24.14)
Erekat looking to blame Israel for failure of talks. International community won't get him a state. Israel will just give him more settlers. That's what Erekat and Palestinians get for their insincerity.
7. Hold on to everything as dont know how to give spurious
Martin SA   (03.24.14)
Hold on to everything as Erecat & co dont know how to give, spurious. Charade on legalities. strong motivation that we legitimately dwell and that we are in legal possession. A loophole to stall negotiations. It wont wash. If you dont know how to negotiate Erecat and company replace yourselves. or be told what the arrangement is. Kerry can take control by imposing the gist of what were vague gestures and thereby settle Arabs They are intent to call out as they also want this peace talks to fail, and become a Colonial Master. Forget!! In reality: Two states must mean Israel Jordon/ Palestine. This would not be so painful. Israel to receive Jerusalem yes, the .Jordan valley, yes Occupied areas in Yesha so no one abandons his property, Yes. as the only way to be secure. Abass can negotiate with King of Jordan to ensure secure place set up an administration with the recognition of Jordan and Arab world. Both PA and Jordan may not like it. Matters can be resolved with their brothers and sisters. We all live find a real practical liveable deal be happy ever after. In Stability!!.

12. Israel, Mr. Ereqat, chooses an accommodation of peaceful
N.L.Katz ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (03.24.14)
COEXISTENCE that is based on UN Security Council Resolution, 242, 1967. Sadly, you people, have been rejecting peaceful coexistence since 1920; each and every peace offer, proposal, gesture and opportunity presented to you. The reason: Since in each, presented by both the international community and Israel, you had to accept Israel's RIGHT to be, to exist as the sovereign nation-state of the Jewish people. And, obviously, you can't live with such reality, i.e. with peaceful coexistence,

18. "negotiations"...?!!!
yosef, phd ,   florida - israel   (03.24.14)

23. Housing people is more important than fake treaties!
trump   (03.24.14)
Arab regimes are the least advanced of the planet Africa economy is waking up, arab people should practice deep soul searching to improve their fate....
24. Pals think idea is for Israel to negociate surrender to them
Alan ,   SA   (03.24.14)
They have tried to reconstruct the South African Mandela model. They use the same terminology...ie Bantustans, Apartheid,."..Bargouti is the new Mandela" story..Sport boycotts....., BDS u name it!! .Why the Pals have had many workshops ,seminars here in SA to try and develop the Mandela narrative for use in the Israel Pal context. Let me tell you as a South African,if the African population in SA would have had the same aims, religious beliefs and a history of murderous wars against the White population, there would NEVER have been a peaceful transition here in SA. Always remember there were about 45 Million Blacks and 4 or 5 Million whites... So the demographics are not even close. Pals are trying to bluff their way to closing down Jewish Israel.
25. Dear Sarah.
Gabe ,   Canada   (03.24.14)
Who is to blame for allowing enemy captives (after having won several defensive wars over them) to claim nationhood instead of sending them back to their country ? Who is to blame for not exercising the rights of the victor ? Who is to blame for subsidizing enemy captives hostile intentions ?
26. It is "Chicken and Egg!"
exUK ,   TEL AVIV   (03.24.14)
Whilst neither side have been realistic, one could postulate that walks on Temple Mount are a deliberate PROVOCATION,just as was Sharon's similar tactic 14 years ago.Thas.plus announcing the "red Rag" of lots of building, eating the cake as they negotiate,(or dont),are SURE to stop any meamingful progress. So now we can blame the other side when they refuse to negotiate, whilst keeping the status quo, building etc.The graffiti in Jerusalem and tire slashing are disgusting. Two wrongs never will make a right;we should be above such things, and the religious rabble should be made to pay heavily.Or is it a case of good cop/bad cop? We should make sure that we are not putting ourselves in position where nobody will be a supporter of Israel. We are supposed to be intelligent, but it is not obviously so.
27. erekat
daniel ,   brasil   (03.24.14)
As you are a smart palestinian, i suggest you to abandon your intransigent and defiant position about BDS and political isolation that will be fruitless and really encourage you on the peace process. That´s the only way that you can stop irreversible steps on the ground. Othrewise, the palestinians aspirations of state will be just on the remains of the west bank, what means just on the Area A sectors
28. "Peace treaty with Palestinians" offers Israel destruction.
Chaim ,   Israel   (03.24.14)
Here is a simple question for which nobody has a rational answer? What would Israel gain from a "peace treaty with Palestinians?" Israel would lose Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, defensible borders, freedom from constant rocket attacks and viability as a state.
