Changing gender composition of negotiators in these "peace talks" is like shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic. The "peace talks with Palestinians" paradigm is irredeemably wrong. "Palestinians" are mortal foes, like Nazis, and must be soundly defeated. Had the WW II Allies been dumb enough to hold "peace talks" with Hitler, it wouldn't have mattered who the negotiators were. The same is true about Israel and "Palestinians".

The issue is political scaffolding. These women believe that by becoming familiar with each other they will "contribute" toward peace. I once met a man associated with Machsom Watch who had spent 23 years meeting with a an Israeli-and-Arab men's group each week. After all those years he became uncomfortable for some reason and finally asked the Arab men, "Does Israel have a right to exist?". You know their answer was no. He left. My question was why his question was not the first thing he asked instead of the last. He never returned to the group.
