1. This is along the lines of treason.
Jarvis ,   Joseph,USA   (03.25.14)
Unless its a covert way of getting the personnel back to the country before something happens. I highly doubt diplomatic immunity will protect Israeli ambassadors in a time where they are most despised. If not this should be called treason! You don't risk your countries foreign affairs over a labor dispute. Treason! Systematically replace them all. Dump them all! Replace them with individuals that are patriotic enough to put the nations interest before a pay raise issue.
2. ILi consulate workers in CA have easy jobs. Fire them all.
Michael ,   California, USA   (03.25.14)
Maybe they don't get much money for what they do, but when you see them at their leisurely tasks chatting away among themselves and playing arrogant games with the public, you realize not even half of them are needed. So, hire the best half of the current workers and pay each of them double. Negotiate a settlement around a table, but not by hurting Israeli citizens everywhere. Government workers do not have the moral right to strike, even when they are unionized! Only teachers among the government workers are unionized in America and this hurts their image and performance. Too bad, really, really!
3. If opening shops on Shabbat & Holidays is not a red line
Red line crossed ,   bec you did so first   (03.25.14)
then striking staff is certainly not a red line. Hey, I think the former lead to the latter. If you deliberately go against Gd's commandments, they should all strike.
4. Liveable wage
Abba Eban ,   Tel-Aviv, Israel   (03.25.14)
Pay these people a decent wage and of course they wont strike. Our MKs are always voting themselves higher wages and seem to think only of themselves. The foreign minister seems to be particularly obtuse regarding this matter.
5. MFA strike
sad ,   jerusalem   (03.25.14)
KEEP GOING! I am a retired "wife of"............if you would know what my pension from the Min. of Education is because I followed my husband around the world -people would be shocked. MFA workers should get the SAME deal as the MOSSAD and Min. of Defence - In Israel and abroad.
6. Gee the former bouncer just dosnet get it
Haim   (03.25.14)
Dont suppose for one minute it could be his fault could it? The former moldavian thug really is clueless
7. The thin red line,
One who knows ,   tel aviv   (03.25.14)
Mr Lieberman, is the privilege you and the rest of you help yourselves are all getting terribly fat on how well our tax money feeds you, so that you can then criticize the proletarian masses for wanting more than the scraps you leave for the rest of us. As for the "fire them", "traitors" lot, presumably not one of YOU are on minimum wages and, if you're a government worker, frequently don't even get your miserable pittance of a salary for a month or two and not a blink from Mr Lieberman about that.
8. what goes around comes around.
(03.25.14)
"When you are out on the street you know that you might take a bullet in the line of duty. You accept it, or you get out. You live with it. What you don't expect or accept is taking one in the back in your boss' office for doing your job exactly as they've taught you. That makes you unhappy." -Clarice Starling as quoted in "Hannibal the Movie"
9. Lieberman does protest to much
Sarah B ,   Tel Aviv/London   (03.25.14)
He has a chance to solve this problem for many months and was to busy manoeuvring for the Prime Minister's position. He should forget about political ambitions and do the job that the Israeli people pay him to do
10. #6
Dennis ,   NJ USA   (03.25.14)
Maybe the former Moldavian Bouncer, as you call him, should bounce these folks back to Israel, and replace them with folks less jaded, and more ambitious. Im sure that the Conculs and Ambassadors are doing a good job, and should be paid accordingly. But the rest of the useless functionairim shuld be kicked to the side, or.. BOunced to the side
11. Foreign Ministry workers
Valerie ,   Israel   (03.25.14)
I don't understand why all government workers are not on the same pay scales what every Ministry they work for. Those working overseas need to be paid cost of living supplements according to the country where they are stationed.
12. @1,2, & others like them...
A WIDOW OF MFA ,   Israel   (03.25.14)
I am exhausted with reading your uninformed posts. I am the surviving widow of murdered diplomat: I receive just under USD 800 a month as pension. I don't mind having to work very hard to reestablish my psychological well being and to keep my household going. I do mind idiots such as yourselves you spill sewer rot out of their mouths AND INSULT PEOPLE WITHOUT KNOWING DIDDLY ABOUT OUR LIVES. Do me and all the other MFA people a favor SHUT UP!
13. #12, Your husband would be paid double, so don't complain.
Michael ,   California, USA   (03.25.14)
Sorry to hear about your heroic husband. May he rest in peace. By my formula (in #2) your husband would have gotten his salary doubled. Your husband would not have striked and requested more salary money while penalizing Israeli citizens all over the world who need consular services. Heroic Israelis don't penalize their fellow citizens; please don't ask me to stop saying it.
14. Israel Diplomats
Kenny ,   Maalah Adumim Israel   (03.26.14)
No.11 Michael, you have no respect for number 11 who is a widow of an MFA Diplomat and you have the easy life of sitting in Ca. and criticizing people who put their lives at risk everyday in Israel and around the world for the State of Israel. Their salaries should be the same as other Western Diplomats. The problem is that there are many like you who criticize without knowing the facts and do not help solve the problems facing Israel and the people.
15. Michael in California
One who knows ,   Tel Aviv   (03.26.14)
People don't strike for nothing because when on strike they get no pay at all!! There were attempts to negotiate for 18 months and, as usual, employers who have loads of money for their own bonuses and benefits never have any for the workers. Strikes are not there to punish but to force the employers, who have all the power, into concessions against inconvenience. They are a human RIGHT, Michael, and more's the pity that there aren't more in this country, as the 50% of the nation no longer able to cope on minimum wages are exploited pitilessly by executives on pay that is enough for five to six lifetimes! As for the comment to the widow, don't assume what her husband would or would not have done. Nobody these days lives on $800 dollars a month. Nobody in Israel lives on double that anymore - and @#$%^&& like Lieberman know it, but just don't give a toss.
16. 9
Y Allon ,   adelaide/Israel   (03.26.14)
Why don't you crawl back into your kennel-your barking is wasted on this site-troll.
17. #16 Y Allon's offensive talkback
Michael ,   Haifa   (03.26.14)
I hope that you will remain in Adelaide for all time. Israel is better off without abusive hooligans such as yourself.
18. 17.
Birdi ,   Israel   (03.26.14)
Michael, where have you been for the last 6 months or so? Y. Allon from Adelaine is correct in saying 9 is a wasted troll. Weird that you fail to see right through Sarah B from London, who is a fake & an impostor.
19. 13.
Birdi ,   Israel   (03.26.14)
Nope, you are not sorry about # 12's husband, in fact you have no respect for anyone or anything. Blurting out what you think you know to be true when it's false & so miss-guided. Israel & her people have moved on since you lived here Michael.
