1. Afrikaans economic model, cheap labor, no political rights
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (03.27.14)
2. Authors rehash B.S. Oslo, Disengagement sales pitch.
Chaim ,   Israel   (03.27.14)
This article has nothing to do with reality. It has nothing to do with the true and constantly repeated genocidal "Palestinian" intentions. It has nothing to do with the fact that Israel would not last a decade under such "peace". It is more of the same delusional leftist B.S. used to sell the disastrous Oslo and Gaza retreats. You can still see such leftist "intellectuals" on video saying how wonderful life will be when Israel flees Gaza.
3. But it WON'T SAVE OUR LIVES IN ISRAEL
Riva ,   Israel   (03.27.14)
It has to be clearly understood that murdering Jews is written in the Koran! Israel, really the Jews are threatened on a daily basis, and attempts are made to kill us everyday in the name of the "cause." Murderers are released in the name of the "cause!" would anyone else get this preferred treatment for their cause! It's sick! Politicians are really pulling a fast one on the public to get away with the logic that we must give in to terrorists, that this so-called cause is all about stealing land from Arabs when in fact, it's not! Right now, there is an underground peace in which thousands of Israelis do friendly business with Arabs in a most peaceful way! BUT if any of these Arabs were to reveal that they like Israelis/Jews, they would be murdered, yes murdered by their own people! I wish the world would understand this reality which I know first hand!

Peace is good for economics: look at the boost the Israeli economy had under Shamir and Ahrens. The problem is that the Leftist version of "peace" leads only to death and destruction: look at the economic damage caused by Oslo I, Oslo II, the Ehud Barak Regime, Sharon's ethnic cleansing of Gush Katif and of course Olmert's kleptocracy. Peace and wealth will never happen as long as the Leftist fantasies influence our lives.

6. Peace is long overdue and even imagining it is difficult.
Michael ,   California, USA   (03.27.14)
The effort these groups of researchers made is very worthwhile. Let's hope leaders will finally have the courage to sign peace accords and really start acting. It is so painful to watch how immaterial details have been keeping the sides apart for so many years. In peace conditions the Middle East can become THE PARADISE on earth.
7. There is a precedent here

8. The Peace Dividend
Adam Neira ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (03.27.14)
As I have been saying for many years... If the correct command and control structure for the Holy Land is established all parties will benefit. The current GDP of the following areas : Jerusalem; The State of Israel; Judea and Samaria/The West Bank; Gaza; Lebanon; Syria; Jordan; Egypt and Saudi Arabia is approx. $1.6 Trillion. This can easily grow by at least 5% p.a. from 2015 if the right moves are made from here on in. People must think "Win-Win".
9. Vivid Imagination - there is peace with Jordan
ron ,   Melbourne, Australia   (03.27.14)
I guess the researchers want to move the 'dismal science' of economics to the 'fools domain' - OK there are two peace agreements in place - Egypt and Jordan. Please , excuse the pun , ' show us the money' - the Economic activity with Jordan died very quickly and with Egypt it never happened. But I guess it is easier to imagine Utopia then to stick to data points. This is the 'next time it will be different' story OR the ' I know what has gone wrong' line. You can just as well argued that there would have been cooperation of rational self interested - it is amazing that there are even wars - the return on investment don't seem rational. Give us a break Utopian stories divorced from reality are just that. You can build mountains on some theoretical peace dividends where the complexities on the ground are hard to even model
10. #9 ron, Great agri projects in place south of Beer Sheva.
Michael ,   California, USA   (03.27.14)
Agricultural business cooperation between Jordan and Israel; desert farming at its best. Very impressive and going strong. Many achievements in shared water management. Environmental projects are shared to improve conditions around the Dead Sea. Jordanian tourism growing due to entries through Eilat/Aqaba. Hotels in Amman and Petra frequented by Israelis. Jordanian tourists trickling in to Eilat. Give it time, mate, give it time. And ... visit home some time.
11. Will "Peace" stop Arabs from killing Jews?
Jim Yakamoto ,   My Country   (03.27.14)
The answer is simple - NO! If the Arabs wanted Peace they would have recognized the State of Israel in 1948. They would not have embarked on a killing spree and 22 Arab Nations would not have declared war of Israel. If the Arabs wanted Peace why did they provoke the 1967 Six Day War with constant terror attacks and thus directly cause the "Occupation"? All this proves that the Arabs and other Muslim Countries just don't want Peace with Israeland they prove it every day with hatred, vilification of Israel and Jews and poisoning the minds of students in universities in Europe, the UK, the USA, South Africa and others who have lost the ability to question. The Germans lost their ability to think 1933 and now the people of Europe have lost theirs' in 2014!
12. To: No. 10
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.27.14)
Not quite. "Agricultural business cooperation between Jordan and Israel; desert farming at its best. Very impressive and going strong." All a one-way street. Jordanians picking Israel's brain trust without giving anything in return. "Many achievements in shared water management. Environmental projects are shared to improve conditions around the Dead Sea." Yeah, right. Do the Jordanians want to build desalinization plants? No. They want Israel to undertake the work, the expense, and provide them with free fresh water. Do they tap into Israel's considerable experience and brain trust? You bet. Do they want to learn how to reclaim the desert? No. The sheikhs like the desert and they are not in the least bit interested in cultivating it for the benefit of all Jordanians. Just their extended tribe. Similarly, there have been a great many Israeli scientists and environmental and conservation experts explaining to the Jordanians why it is not a good idea to pull the potash out of the Dead Sea all at once. Reminding them that the Dead Sea is a SHARED resource. They are not in the least bit impressed. "Jordanian tourism growing due to entries through Eilat/Aqaba. Hotels in Amman and Petra frequented by Israelis. Jordanian tourists trickling in to Eilat." Hotels in Amman, Petra and even Aqaba frequented by Israelis. Jordanian tourists in Taba. You need to find a better grip on reality, Michael.

Rockets from Egypt's Sinai, Jordanian soldier and other incidents killed scores of Jewish Israelis since the signing of the so called "Peace" that Arabs never understand the meaning of it. You are full of it!
