it is quite obvious that pollard's sentence is disproportionate. it is also obvious that the sentencing judge violated pollard's plea deal with the prosecution. furthermore, the us intelligence community was manifestly incompetent in the pollard case, as it was incompetent in the george koval, hansan, ames, manning and snowden cases. two very different reasons have been given for not releasing pollard. feinstein wants pollard released only after a peace deal is achieved, which means in a coffin. michael hyden makes the absurd claim that if pollard is released after serving 29 years in prison, many years in solitary confinement, then snowden might also receive a deal. the linkage between pollard and snowden is absurd. snowden is sitting comfortably in russia on asylum and will never spend a single day in jail . it is obvious that the us intelligence community is using pollard as a pawn in their dirty tricks. pollard at this point is a political hostage. the us intelligence community has made it very clear. pollard will die in jail and the us intelligence community will have had its pound of flesh.

and they are trying to strengthen it by rolling out a few talking heads to oppose his release to try extract as much as they can from Israel. Pollard has 18 months left on his sentence. Ten or fifteen years ago Pollard would have been a great tool to extract concessions from Israel. He should have been released fifteen years ago and his continued incarceration does the American justice system and America's reputation no favors.

Not more peace talks until you release Pollard!

The intelligence community find the Pollard affair embarrassing and so they want him to never get out and when he is legitimately up for parol in 2015 the intelligence community sadly will make up excuses why he should not be paroled. If Pollard had been spying for the Soviet Union he would have got around 20 years sentence not life but he was spying for a friendly country so they wanted to make an example of him deter people from spying for other friendly countries in future. Apart from Aldrich Ames who got life without parol the longest any American in the intelligence community turned sy for the Soviets was 23 years and thats full sentence. Pollard has to wait 30 years before he is even eligible to be considered for parol.
