Let's call this affair as it is. But, has been on the Jewish community and the 70% Jews voting for the democrats to exhort pressure for his release after almost 30 years in jail and they miserably failed.

I have never met him, have no inside information about him, do not know if he was motivated out of love of Israel or was just a crook who stole classified documents for sale to the highest bidder. I have no idea if he really caused the US damage or they were just picking on him cause he was "working" for Israel which I suspect was not exactly the whole story. What I do believe is that Israel has made a massive mistake in focusing on him all these years, making him a national hero and shoving him in the face of the Americans every chance they get. Bad strategy. Had Israel (read: the local media, Jewish organizations, and the government) minimized him and kept quiet, he probably would have been released 20 years ago. Sometimes not making a big deal out of something is the best tactic.

This might be the most inane sentence in the history of sentences: "99% of humanity has moved beyond tribalism." Why don't you read at least a few news reports about, say, Afghanistan or Iraq or Pakistan or Sri Lanka or many other countries before you express an opinion?

Israeli should not free any additional prisoners and especially not Barghouti. Israel must learn how to "bargain" with the U.S. as if they were in a shuk and not give up all for practically nothing. Demand his release as a concession for returning to the table, nothing else.

Pollard has turned down opportunity after opportunity to come clean, apologize, admit he worked alone, and agree to reject the lecture circuit, never tell his story and promote further bad relationships between the countries and he has chosen to stay put, carry on with the fabrication of his story and image, and wait for the 2015 release date. Yes, that is right, he has the opportunity for a release at that time. He has almost made it, which is the real reason he was willing to play the "don't release me with filthy Pal prisoners" angle yesterday. btw, he isn't old, not that sick, and spend his days hanging out with Bernie Madoff.
