Jews in France have contributed more than you can imagine to THEIR country . In every field . Beginning with Andre Citroen , Mandel , Pierre Mendes France ,Michel Drucker , Simone Signoret , Michel Berger , Jacques Attali etc etc .This only to name some without any research . Jews outside France vote's for the extreme right is because they are mostly of North African origin , and they , as the FN , dislike muslims . "L'ennemi de mon ennemi , est mon ami" . they are wrong of course .

Nothing to do with whether pork tastes good. It's about control and Le Pen sounds desperate to control a problem she will only exacerbate by trying to dictate what people can or should eat. No one wants government randomly dictating what we eat.

Remember? A local school stopped the alternative meal ... . So, nothing new under the sun. This political game goes on and on.

As you tell it , you have never eaten pork . How do you know the "smell" then ? My mother ZL made latkes , it was not smelling very fine in the kitchen , but what a taste in our mouth ! Since we made Alyah [ 100 % Israel , not half ] our kitchen is kosher . Outside our home we eat everything that we like . Lobsters are great , Mussels a la provencale , during the season [ months without R ] in Belgium are fantastic , and a pork filet has a taste you can't imagine , great !

I get coffee every morning from a deli not far from my office. That's where I smell the bacon. It has a very distinctive and, to me, distasteful odor. I haven't always been a vegetarian, but I haven't eaten meat in over a decade. The rest of my family does. I'm not a vegan -- I do eat eggs and I do eat milk products -- but I have never eaten pork or shellfish. I'm not critical of people who do -- a chacun son gout -- it's just not something that I have ever been inspired to try. If you like it, more power to you. People should enjoy their food.

question to myself, it's a very good question. I found the answer in an analogy...Austrias rightists are also coming out against the Moslems, but you can be ABSOLUTELY sure, that they are also Antisemites ! Was this an answer to your question ? xxx

I'm afraid it is. I'm waiting for the Moslems and the French lunatic right to unite in a joint effort against the Jewish people. Disparate groups have found common ground -- the Jews -- throughout history.

“Jews do that very well in Israel towards non Jews “ Israel allows different religions to practice in public; to eat what they want, to wear what they want. No comparison with France. Stick to facts please.

France is Catholic. The Church also has “archaic rules”. What you want is for others to have to stick to YOUR rules. The rules are “archaic” only because you don’t agree with them. And these “goat herders of 4000 years ago” established a nation that existed longer than France has so far existed. Your “21st century” is composed of your own ignorance.
45. I will eat halal..............but
Calibi ,   Sydney Aust   (04.06.14)
I wouldn't and cannot eat halal but I can eat kosher. Very simple, THE GOD of Israel is a ZIONIST GOD who is THE true GOD of the Christian. But allah was one of the many gods even before Christianity

France has the right to define its own culture and laws. So have the Jews Israel for koscher majority. Anyone unhappy moves either to Israel, or to Saudia.

What they say about being in a glass room..... Except that in France is the Right that defends Secularism, while in Israel, with roughly the same contentious reasons, its the Left that wants to turn Israel into a Secular State..... Go figure, not in vain that Sarkozy, with his Jewish affinity worked well with Le Pen, as a matter of fact he became President of France with their inconspicuous assisitance.

Yes. All those Moslem children will just have to go hungry. Most of their families are on the dole; maybe they can afford to give their children carrot sticks and a fruit to eat for lunch. Oh well. C'est la vie.

Pleasure? Hardly. You are one sick little puppy, aren't you? The Jews of France represent the largest group making Aliyah. Third largest Jewish population in the world. We will need lots and lots and lots of room in order to accommodate them all when they leave douce France. Good thing we're going to hang onto Judea and Samaria, eh, Bertie?

Oh, I know! Much, much longer. We had dinner with friends last night, and I mentioned this news piece. We spent some time thinking up other great Jewish luminaries who were/are French. Came up with a few -- Pisarro, Chagall, Enrico Macias -- but not many more than that. Of course, this morning, curiosity finally got the better of me, so I looked it up. There is actually a webpage in Wikipedia devoted to French Jews. It is truly a long and very impressive list. The Jewish people continue to be vibrant contributors to French culture and the sciences in France. Despite have a population estimated between 3.5 and 4 million, Arabs and Moslems don't seem to have contributed very much of anything to France. Or anywhere else. Crime, yes. Turns out that of the last dozen or so people who went to the guillotine before the French outlawed capital punishment -- 1976? 1977? I'd have to look it up) the majority were Arabs from the Maghreb. The Jews have a long and storied history of contributing to all aspects of French culture. Arabs and Moslems? Not so much. They seem to be weighing France down. They've done that in lots of Western European countries. Quel dommage.

Once upon a time, the Catholic church considered eating meat on Friday a venal sin. That was subsequently changed. What the hell happened to all those people who led impeccable lives but ate meat on Friday BEFORE the Church changed its mind? Was the decree retroactive? Or are those poor souls still roasting in hell? How about limbo? Unbaptized babies who died went to limbo. Except the Church abolished limbo, didn't it? So what, pray tell, is the fate of all those innocent babies who died before they could be baptized? Purgatory? Seems a bit cruel, doesn't it? Trust me, Cameron -- this is NOT a fire 'twould be wise to light under me.
