1. Pull out the troops if they can attack the
Moshe ,   Johannesburg, RSA   (04.08.14)
soldiers they can protect themselves.
2. Well aparently they do
Nancy   (04.08.14)
Gee must be fun to live in a lawless society like the settlers, you can just build a house where ever you like, no need for planning permission or anything, For good measure build a shack and call it a Beit Knesset , that way when they come to demolish it you can claim your a victim and being persecuted. Just skip the usual red tape and legal fees that the rest of us mere mortals have to go through. I wonder if i could build a house on the in Hertzaliya Petuach over looking the sea? I could just say i was a settler and then im sure it would be ok. Oh what a land of opportunity
3. violent settlers?!
yosef, phd ,   florida - israel   (04.08.14)
Ya'alon, are you a coward too? Why don't you address the thousands of illegal Arab constructions - instead of "heroically" demolish a single Jewish project ? Great at apologizing to kerry, not so great at supporting Israel's bravest !
4. Stop harrassing Jews building on their Land!
trump   (04.08.14)
1920 San Remo clauses allow Jews building all over the former Mandate Stop violating internatiional laws!
5. Why are Jews building homes in Jewish homeland illegal?
Danny   (04.08.14)
Stop destroying Jewish homes.
6. #4 - San Remo long ago became null & void
spyguy ,   seattle usa   (04.08.14)
Agreements that nations make are NOT "law" but simply agreements that are valid only at that moment in time. Once any party to an "international " agreement decides to no longer follow the agreement it becomes null and void as if it never existed. There is no legal basis for Israel, just what Israelis have taken and help by force.
7. Advice to Yaalon
(04.08.14)
First, fire the IDF commander currently in charge. Such abysmal competence will lead to many dead in combat. Second, find the genius who ordered the revenge destruction of four house, jail him and make him personally liable for the financial damage he caused. Taxpayers do not need to suffer because of his stupidity. Third, publically declare that the vandalism was not the act GSS and police provocateurs, and if it was the Chief of Police and Head of Shabak will resign without pension. Last, work with the residents of Yizhar, social workers and police to find out who did the vandalism. If it was a Leftist, publish his name, who he worked for and who paid him.
8. #6 that is true
(04.08.14)
You are right, International Law is a meaningless farce. The US did not have to respect any agreement or law when it decided to wrest Kosovo from Serbia, nor did the Russians have to respect any agreement when they liberated Crimea from Ukraine. Just like the US allowed Egypt to violate the terms of the 1967 disengagement, paving way to Egypt's attacks on Israel in 1970 and 1973, any agreement with PLO is worthless, as PLO can always ignore it. International agreements are only worth what your armed forces can guarantee.
9. # 2 Nancy
Sagi   (04.08.14)
When you build that house don't forget the swimming pool, a modest one, put up a sign which states that it is a ritual bath, take a dip now and again, and no court in the land will order demolition. Who knows, it might even be excavated in a couple of thousand years from now and officially declared a holy sight, after all, stones are far more important than humans.
10. Settlers are right
Mustafa Ibrahim ,   Ramallah   (04.08.14)
The settlers are doing a great job to the country. They are unifiying us in all our land, Jews and Palestinians living together. To destroy their homes is a sad view for us, Palestinians for One-State solution. Let the settler come and share the land with us. You are welcome. All we Palestinians want is the right to vote and the Betuach Leumi. We are desperate to become Israelis too.
11. Ya'alon: will not tolerate violence against security forces
barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (04.08.14)
It's about time to stop talking and starting acting upon your principles. IDF needs the respect it deserves. Such a shameful behavior from our own !
12. The civil war seeds have been planted
Arnold-Canada ,   Montreal   (04.08.14)
It might take a year or two. The seeds have been planted. God help us.
13. # 4,5 ever heard of the law
Nancy   (04.08.14)
So can i just go and build anywhere i want? how about a new villa in Tel aviv park, no need for planning permission, goverment permits just skip the lot as you say it is our land. Do enlighten us all where exactly is this line where the law no longer applies>? How come they dont settlie in Ramat Gan, last time i checked that was Jewish land. Lets face it they are a bunch of lawless thugs and public opinion is turning against them. I say they can become part of Palestine, withdraw IDF protection and let them live under occupation, they are the true enemy within.
14. @6 San Remo is so valid that it is in UN chapter 80!
trump   (04.08.14)
Israel has all legal authority to annex Judea and Samaria .
15. Where is the usual " it was the Arabs"?
America First   (04.08.14)
16. More double talk from Yaalon
Philip ,   Afula, Israel   (04.08.14)
Of course he does nothing , he wants their votes in the next elections.
17. Advice to #7 Grow up
Nancy   (04.08.14)
at least finish primary school
18. When settlers behave like terrorists they
A Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (04.08.14)
should be treated like terrorists!
19. 6# US constitution Nullified
(04.08.14)
20. Settlers
Nuchosh   (04.08.14)
These are criminals not settlers. They use the settlements as an excuse for lawlessness and anarchy activities. They simply are hijacking a cause for their destructive behavior. Avigdor Leiberman lives in Gush Etzion, a settlement. He was not attacking police. These criminals should be thrown in prison for ten years.
21. It was always clear the settlers will destroy Israel.
Michael ,   California, USA   (04.08.14)
Step by step, shack by shack, event after event, settlers are inching toward accomplishing their goal. Like Netanyahu and the rest of the current government, Ya'alon is without courage to do what has to be done to rescue Israel. The writing is on the wall.
22. Intolerable?
Yosef ,   Israel   (04.08.14)
Given the state of affairs in the West Bank, is it avoidable? Perhaps reservists should refuse to serve there unless adequately protected.
23. blah blah
peter ,   tel aviv   (04.09.14)
Ya'alon has been saying the same line since being appointed But not once has he ordered the services to act to protect those soldiers he was once their commander Forget politics Boogey kick the butts of those punks.
