31. Talks and diplomats wages go hand in hand..Stop Now .
Roland ,   London England   (04.08.14)
32. Kerry omits prior Arab violations.
Doug ,   UK   (04.08.14)
Kerry's statement represents an egregious distortion of the sequence of events.  Clearly the comments emanating from the Palestinian leadership were lost on Kerry. Comments which repeatedly made it clear that as soon as the last batch of prisoners were released, the Palestinians would abandon the talks and engage in pre-prepared unilateral moves to the UN etc.. Hence the futility of releasing more prisoners was obvious. Israel, for its part, said it had delayed the releases because it first wanted a commitment from Abbas to extend the peace talks past the April 29 deadline, in the face of repeated statements from Palestinian officials that their sole intention was to obtain the release of prisoners and then leave the negotiations. A situation that would embarrass Israel and make a mockery of the talks to date. Why Kerry would fail to mention such factors is not rocket-science.
33. City of The Great King will always be a stumbling block
Pasquinel.Canada   (04.08.14)
Kerry needs to get over this. Any one who understands the scriptures knows this. Jerusalem where God dwelt, the land given to Abraham, Isaac & Jacob...Israelites, yet there is the evil one and his followers who constantly try to uproot God's Chosen People, it won't work so get over it. USA is turning anti God so they won't be much help. Ask Yahweh for wisdom and strength.
34. Kerry blames Israel. BIG surprise.
mea   (04.08.14)
And this has been the prejudice all along. It could not be that the details of the last release are also factors. It could not be that the actual talks were stalled by the Pals to the point where it became a matter of the pals simply clocking out the talks in order to get the prisoners released for nothing. If that had happened, the news would be around Abbas gloating to the Arab press how he got something for nothing once again. So, Kerry, how is this Israel's fault again. Bottom line: Kerry plays into the Pals hands, takes his orders from Obama on dipping and bowing to the pal propaganda tactics and auto-pens blaming Israel.
35. And ONE MORE TIME..... It's all ISRAEL's FAULT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Play it again ,   Uncle Sam   (04.08.14)
Of course releasing terrorists as a path to piece is OK. Of course keeping Pollard in jail for 30 years is OK. You know why it's always Israel's fault? Because Israel is the only one who EVER apologies.
36. Fault
Max ,   Washington DC   (04.08.14)
I like Kerry fault Israel on the Prisoner Issue but for different reasons. Israel should have never agreed to release any convicted murder as a gesture to Abbas who then celebrated the Murderers release as if they were heroes for their heinous crimes! Israel was right to not release the last group as the palestinians demanded release of israeli citizens convicted of murder. That release would have brought into question Israels Honor, Sanity and Sovereignty!
37. Blaming the wrong side/party
Sjoerd van der Velde ,   Hoorn, Holland   (04.08.14)
Down with "islam"! May Israel exist forever and always, with Jerusalem as undivided and eternal capital!
38. LIAR! He lied about vietnam too
bernard ross   (04.08.14)
39. Abass's Birthday
Marcohoe ,   San Francisco, USA   (04.08.14)
Is Abass's birthday today? He's not only offered 22% of something that his ancestors took by the sword and that never was rightfully his, but now he also gets the goodwill of our dear American friends who close their eyes to his unwillingness to make any concessions.
40. US DID release some Gitmo prisoners
sharpshin ,   USA   (04.08.14)
Obviously we don't have people here who follow the news. Americans did release Gitmo prisoners this summer to jumpstart peace talks with Afghanistan. And the prisoner release was NETANYAHU'S OFFER -- yes, offer -- in lieu of settlement curbs and in exchange for a moratorium on futher Palestinian diplomatic moves. Jeez, all of this was well documented in news reports.
41. #21 The prisoners release
Moshe ,   Israel   (04.08.14)
As it was published in the media, Israel agreed to release the terrorists in 4 stages, everyone conditioned on a progress in the peace talks. It has released 3 groups without any progress. The indignation among many members of the coalition soared, and Netanyahu understood that his regime was in jeopardy. Then he held up the fourth phase.
42. When all else fails...
manicdrummer ,   Haifa, Israel   (04.08.14)
...BLAME THE JEWS!!!! Thanks, Mr. Kerry, for putting the peace talks one step away from total failure. It took you long enough to get around to it.
43. The agenda was set so prisoners out before end of talks Kerr
r ,   USA   (04.08.14)
y, who set the timelines? Israel should sit with hands folded as talks(propaganda) was foisted on the world????
44. poooof
john ,   usa   (04.08.14)
what about athe POOF from all the missles being shot at israel? huh kerry?
45. @#33, the Bible MisQuoter
Doug ,   Rochester, USA   (04.09.14)
Actually, the bible says the holy land belongs to the seed of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob. Which are the Christian and Jewish and Moslem Palestinians. It is not the European zionist invaders who went through centuries of intermarriage and conversion back and forth in Poland and Russia and Germany, etc before attacking what was once a peaceful Palestine occupied by Arabs of many religions.
46. #9 Netanyahu failed ?!
yosef, phd ,   florida - israel   (04.08.14)
Right on #9. Furthermore, the Real Failure here is not any particular individual in the government, but the prevailing "Galut" - Diaspora mentality: Fear of "What would the Goyim say?!" So many in the Israeli ruling circles are still plain afraid this non existential Fear, and it is interpreted in the Muslim world in the worst possible way - of being a depended weakling...
47. Agree with #32, Kerry is twisting the truth..
Beary White ,   Norway   (04.09.14)
..about the timeline. ..and sold himself to the laughing goddess of arab spring.. Actually this is a result of taking order from a sunni. ..
48. above
moshe   (04.09.14)
Kerry is in fantasyland and blames Israel. get real, Kerry. wake up. your task is hopeless. you will not be the last to fail.
49. This is the time!!!!!!
Robert ,   lost in farmington   (04.09.14)
this is the time ,Israel got to know who they are dealing with. He's Not a intelligent person when it comes to the middle east or foreign affairs. He's already has proven that , and after this statement ,I would not deal with him anymore.
50. And, what is Kerry's role in the failure...??!!
N.L.Katz ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (04.09.14)
51. Kerry: Working hard to elect a Republican Senate
Bill ,   New York, USA   (04.09.14)
52. Kerry had no choice
Harri ,   EU   (04.09.14)
Kerry just told the senators what everyone already knew was true. Every senator can read newspapers and everyone who reads newspapers can figure out who ruined the talks by breaking promises, building more and more illegal settlements (by international and US stance) and mocking US negotiators, secretary of state and president always when some progress was made. If Israel wanted any progress in negotiation, it was impossible to see from outside. It looked like your only goal was to prevent Palestinians to go to UN while you build more settlements. And you failed that too.
53. #45 one who does not submit
(04.09.14)
The Koran says the Land was given to the Jews. Nothing else is important. Take your blasphemy elsewhere.
54. United states and Israel
Sjoerd van der Velde ,   Hoorn, Holland   (04.09.14)
Blaming and accusing the wrong party. Perhaps the united nations organization can find a solution. Israel, with Jerusalem, forever and always!
55. Kerry is responcible for indiscriminate bombardment of Libya
Miron ,   USA   (04.09.14)
I can live with what Israel does and feel good. I wish I could say same about Mr. Kerry's place. The trouble is Israel is in it for Israel. Kerry put America in the bet not for America's stead. There is a whole lot of difference. And for Mr. Kerry it smells like war crimes on a world scale, it looks like a war crime on the world scale, and it is a war crime on world scale.
56. What are Kerrys motives for this statement
zionist forever   (04.09.14)
If he wasn't trying to achieve a political goal he wouldn't be making a public statement about Israel being responsible for talks breaking down. This statement is probably for the ears of AIPAC because most American Jews are very pro peace process if they start hearing Kerry announcing that Israel is responsible for talks breaking down hopefully for Kerry can get Kerry to have AIPAC go after Israel. Bibi also doesn't want to be the one being named and shamed for the breakdown of talks so Kerry wants to embarrass Bibi into backing down. Abbas has said the only way he will continue talks being April 29 is the other release + the release of the top terrorists like Bargouti and a number of other things and Kerry wants Bibi to make whatever concessions it takes to get the talks going, he has already said he won't support demands for Jewish sate recognition.
57. nobody in the US believes Kerry, not a word since 1969.
a fool opens his ,   mouth & all know   (04.09.14)
58. In Kerry's Defense
ltrail ,   United States   (04.16.14)
Secretary of Defense Kerry needs to look like he is doing work, so he collects a wage and gets a good performance evaluation from his supervisor (we know who that supervisor is don't we?) We also know that Kerry must dance in step with his supervisor. My oh my, I sorely miss Condoleezza.
