Israel has pushed the native population off their land, out of their homes, into refugee camps in Gaza, the West Bank, and outside Palestine.

Sure. No recent elections, and Gaza in the hands of Hamas. Abu Mazen had real credibility problems. But so does Bibi. The coalition was almost not built, has not achieved it's goals, and makes a farce out of the peace process. Time for new elections, and new leaders in both nations.

the replacement for Abbas. Why do Israelis persist in the delusion that there is some Arab leader that will bow before the "kings" of Israel and the US? The days when the US and/or Israel could demand things and get away with it are long, long over. Any leader that replaces Abbas will be much more belligerent and much harder to deal with. There is even a good chance that the leader that replaces Abbas will not come from Hamas but Al Qaida! Israel has so radicalized the Palestinians, that holding elections will only make things much, much WORSE for Israel. Be real careful what you wish for because it is likely you will get a worse nightmare.

The 2006 parliamentary elections ere nullified. Israel had approved the candidates, then arrested half the winners while withholding tax revenue and the US embargoed aid to the PA. The situation lasted until Dahlan's failed coup in Gaza. Free and fair elections by Palestinians are not possible. Israel can appoint an Abbas replacement with the same credibility and legitimacy for the Palestinians as any new elections. Get Real.

His term will expire when he want's to step down or he is overthrown. That's how it works in cultures which are not able to adopt democracy, human rights, tolarence and live in the 21st century.

The 65+ year record is that every time Palestinian leaders try to negotiate, they lose more. The only leaders that have had any success are the ones that physically resisted the Israelis. As for all the wars that Israel has had, it is because they invaded the middle east where they were not welcome.

While Israel can easily take sovereignty over all the land west of the Jordan River, it can NOT remove any of the humans on that land. The minute it tries, the whole world, INCLUDING the USA will whack Israel up side the head with a baseball bat. If you want a war that will destroy Israel just try removing the humans.

Until the Islamic population on ME-ground (WB and Gaza) wake up from the dilution they are able to elect leaders who sincerely want peace, they will have no hope of getting their own state. The islamic people in the so-called forefront of their population have no other ambitions than selfishness and greed of being wealthy and grab powerful positions, in addition of filling their own pockets with western dollars. The only way for the islamic population, is to be put under a complete jewish administration and responsibility, who will remove the terror-organisations on the strip and WB. of course abbas is illegitimate, but so is the entire palestinian anarchy, imposed undemocratically, and maintained by force. its only basis is the plo slogan that "the plo is the sole legitimate representative of the palestinian people", even though they are neither. but... it's unlikely that the us or the un will want to spoil the illusion of "making peace", by pointing out that the emperor has no clothes.

Abbas was Israel's unknowing puppet. He believed that honest negotiations would yield a just solution to the Palestinian/Israeli issue. But he finally realised that the Israeli government has no intention of negotiating in good faith. Everything the Israeli government does has been for the purpose of stealing as much Palestinian land as possible. Now Abbas has gained Israel's wrath because he has gone to the UN. He's no longer useful to Israel. Will your government now poison him like they did Arafat?

Not only are they slaves to their leaders but they are all slaves to Islam. Islam is not compatible with a civilized world. Unless they worship the God of Israel (which they don't) there is no hope for them.
