Correct. Which is precisely why Al Qaeda has steered well clear of Israel. They know what would happen. And while they are not in the least bit troubled in ordering the martyrdom of others for the "cause," they have a very strong sense of self-preservation. Killing for the cause is okay; but dying for the cause? Not so much. Al Qaeda has a very healthy fear of Israel. For good reason. But the United States and Europe are perceived by Al Qaeda to be giant fish in a barrel. Extremely soft targets. The raid on Abbottabad produced acres of intelligence on Al Qaeda's targets. Just about every country in Western Europe; the United States; Canada; Oceania -- all featured. Israel? Not mentioned once. Very pragmatic, I must say.
