1. Israel belon gs to the Jews PERIOD! End of discussion.
Sam ,   PT   (04.22.14)
There'll never be peace with Arabs anyhow until Mashiah come, why these silly talks? And who's Abbas to threaten Israel, a sovereign state? Israel has to show courage and power and never allow others, esp Arabs, to give demands and threats.
2. Forget it all.
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (04.22.14)
As we have argued for a long time, the local Arabs do NOT want a peace arrangement with Israel nor do they want their own state. As is typical in Arab speech, you cannot believe a word they say. There is no connection between their intentions and their lips. Besides, they understand that they are far better off under Jewish dominion then they will ever be under Arab governance. They will thrive and prosper under the Jews, but will revert to primitivism and poverty under their own corrupt and anachronistic-thinking extremist leaders. Under our wing, they will have peace, they can come to our nice malls to shop and be treated in our fine Jewish hospitals. Under Arab leadership, they will have the same miserable lives their brethren have in the squalor of Damascus and Cairo, doomed to lives of misery and sadness with no hope of ever being happy.
3. Oh, I don't think so!
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.22.14)
"Abbas said that should talks fail, he would dismantle the Palestinian Authority, a move that would leave Israel responsible for 2.5 million Palestinians living in the West Bank" It will free Israel to annex Judea and Samaria and repatriate the 2.5 million "Palestinians" -- instantly illegal Jordanian aliens -- to the country of their citizenship, i.e., Jordan.
4. Peace--Statehood?
arne ,   chicago usa   (04.22.14)
I've written many times that the Pal's are not yet ready for either--simply put--they cannot run a state efficiently right now. They know it but will not make it public. Their best option is to do what their doing in making Israel the one whose keeping them from getting one.As the situation now exsists, they receive all the benefits the world provides for the" poor and downtroden".Theirs is a simple game that will backfire in time.
5. The prove is in the pudding (but what pudding?)
Mark B. ,   Amsterdam / Holland   (04.23.14)
According to the criterium for proving the existance of a will for peace by this SPS (senior political source), I can think of some unacceptable Israeli demands proving the desire for war Israel has. Not to speak of creating unacceptable facts on the ground called (by International Law illegal) settlements. Let us all hope it is not about prove if there is a will for peace but about hard starting points from which to start real negotiations some day in order to archieve peace, by both parties.
6. peace-means--statehood means--
arne ,   chicago usa   (04.22.14)
self sustaining#1.Are they?#2 Will they be?#3Can they be? Answers#1 no #2 not for a long time #3 Remains to be seen.Status quo best bet for now--make it look like your being punished so the world will continue to help support you and that way the big guys will hold their positions and their money and life goes on.Peace might mean that Israel will transfer towns like Um Umma to Palistine and those living there aren't going to be to happy.
7. Back to the fifties with Ynet
Mark B. ,   Amsterdam / Holland   (04.23.14)
When 'senior political sources' (SPS) without a name had the trust and authority to tell us who, what, why, when and where. When there was no need to think for ourselves and we all could go to bed afterwards, feeling calm and reassured
8. Abbas Threats & Demands
Max ,   Washington DC   (04.22.14)
Exactly who will mind if Abbas dismantles the PA? As an American taxpayer I won't mind, but would like a refund from him and other PA cronies who have stashed millions in Swiss bank accounts!
9. And This Is News Because . . .
emanon ,   USA   (04.23.14)
10. Abbas never wanted peace
CJK   (04.22.14)
abbas always wanted to replace the jewish state of israel with an arab muslim state.
11. its boils down to 1 cause = squeeze Israel....
Calibi ,   Sydney Aust   (04.23.14)
Palestinian have only 1 cause, squeeze Israel out ultimately. Every treaty will end out with something new against Israel. Then another new treaty is needed till Israel is exhausted and give in to suicide otherwise threat is violence. Even if Israel give every advantage to Abbas he will ultimately agree with Hamas = Violence to destroy Israel ultimately. May God bless Bibi and Israel. (end)
