1. They're Christians in name only
Leon   (04.23.14)
Traditionalists, idol worshippers, nothing to do with yeshu/jesus nor the "new testament".
2. Wouldn't be surprised if the IDF
(04.23.14)
will reward them with the first church in the army and make Herzl proud - typical Zionist diaspora mentality. Actually, since the IDF is not a religious Jewish entity, Christians and Zionists should serve and leave chareidim out.
3. Purple triangle for Christians, Red for Muslims, Yellow Jews
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (04.23.14)
Israel Identity Card "As of 2005, the ethnicity has not been printed; a line of eight asterisks appears instead. The bearer's ethnic identity can nevertheless be inferred by other data - the Hebrew calendar's date of birth is often used for Jews, and also, each community has its typical first and last names."
4. Christians ...
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.23.14)
... are an inseparable part of the Arab community? Oh, they're getting separated pretty savagely in Arab countries. The only safe haven for Christian Arabs in the Middle East happens to be Israel. Their brother (Moslem) Arabs don't seem to have much fraternal closeness towards them in other lands. So, I would say it is time for them to choose. They can be Israeli, or not. But no one likes a parasite. Why should they be able to claim all the rights and privileges of citizenship but not all of the obligations attendant to Israeli citizenship? If they feel a bit squeamish at the possibility of someday having to raise a hand against their brother Arabs (although their brother Moslem Arabs feel no such compunction, as has been adequately demonstrated in Libya, Iraq, Syria and Egypt, and probably other lands as well), they can perform national service instead. But they should serve in some fashion, if they wish to be fully integrated into the Israeli body politic. They owe Israel at least that much.
5. IDF Recruitment and Enlistment - Fresh thinking
Tim ,   Brighton   (04.23.14)
Yes Serving is about National Unity and Protecting the Country but we have to update the IDF Message and concentrate less on the EMOTIONAL and accentuate the POSITIVE PRACTICAL benefits As an Israeli Arab friend said to me in London - Its difficult for us to identify with Jewish History and Zionism But it should not preclude Israeli Arabs from taking a full part in Israeli Society of which the IDF is Central. What we would like is the interaction to not only focus on what 'I can do for the IDF - but what the IDF can do for me' This is where UK Military Voluntary Recruitment is so good..it sells the benefits of skilling up, of teamwork, of building confidence....whilst the more ethereal considerations of 'service to queen and country' are left to individuals to define for themselves
6. Re: My post at No. 4
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.23.14)
Fifth line from the bottom, penultimate word -- for "Libya," please read "Lebanon." Apologies to all.
7. The IDF needs some religion after all
Sam ,   PT   (04.23.14)
and to fulfill the quotas, they can import Orthodox Christians from around the world.
8. #3 talk to me when you have a female president in the US
(04.23.14)
after centuries of elections not a single woman! Israel had in the third decade. And talk to me when your Muslim friends stop stoning women.
9. Israeli Christians should enlist in the IDF
CJK   (04.23.14)
why are israeli christians called "arab christians?" israeli christians are citizens of israel with full rights and therefore should fulfill their obligations to their fellow citizens. it is time for israeli christians to fully integrate into israeli society with the understanding that they retain their right to practice their religion freely.
10. no. 3 - Yellow triangle for Jews, KKK Kansas shooter.

11. #1 How do you know, Leon?
GS ,   Germany   (04.23.14)
You should'nt judge that fast ... .
12. 'ARABIC SPEAKING CHRISTIANS'
GS ,   Germany   (04.24.14)
They are neither "arab christians" nor "christian arabs". I think one should call them ARABIC SPEAKING CHRISTIANS (in Israel).
