1. This one is a no-brainer
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.23.14)
Unity government? The last time we saw that, Hamas emerged the victor -- they control Gaza. So who is to say that there would be a different outcome in Judea and Samaria? Not a risk worth taking. The international community has recognized Hamas as a terrorist organization. Israel will not negotiate with terrorists. But if they want unity, they can have unity. Relocate all West Bank Arabs to Gaza. Let them build their "Palestinian" state there.

The nikah mut'ah between Hamas and Fatah is a marriage made in Hell. Do not fear their serpent tongues interlocking in unity to hiss uniflormally at Israel for when they divorce they will have done Israels work... Again.... They have not missed the missed.

Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NYC   (04.23.14)
"We can not achieve peace without reconciliation first." So we wasted the US and Israel's time over the past 9 months and have caused needless harm to our people by wasting the past 3 years since we signed the last reconciliation deal.

Sjoerd van der Velde ,   Hoorn, Holland   (04.23.14)
Dear Sarah. What do you think, that the Gaza-strip also is Israeli territory and that Jordan/Arabian peninsula can have the total "Pal"/Arabian people? May Israel forever and always exist!. Salute, Sjoerd Ruurd.
17. #1 - Please look at the map again
Yeoshua F. ,   N.Y   (04.23.14)
Palestinians are spread throughout the country, north east west and south. There are 6 million of them in the land of Israel and another 3 million in Jordan. They will not go anywhere, this land belongs to them and it has been since the dawn of time. The Palestinians in the west bank will choose the leadership they wish, and if they choose Hamas it is their right to do so, just as Israelis chose the current cast of crooks and supremacists that are governing them.
18. It's more about stopping Dahlan and his support
(04.23.14)

19. This is good!
Avram Goldsmith ,   Toronto, Canada   (04.23.14)
1.Take all of them in GAZA to populate HAMAS's tunnels 2. Liable to suing for criminals acts of terrorism 3. Oslo accord null and avoid , annex Jehuda and Shomron 4. Abbas will end his day in a garbage bag
20. How does the UN react?
James ,   USA   (04.23.14)
Of course the UN is not an effective body to begin with. Now it is digging its own grave. The move to accept a Palestinian presence with Hamas as a member is akin to the UN recognizing Al-Qaeda. How will they reverse the PA recognition as a terrorist body or is Israel just a fall guy to be thrown under the bus? Does this mean the UN will sanction Hamas as legitimate? Will peace keepers be put into Gaza? Does Israel openly declare war with a observer/member entity? Has the entire PA by this move declared itself a terrorist group?
21. The End
Harvey ,   London   (04.23.14)
That's it folks . Israel will never negotiate with a Palestinian entity which includes Hamas . The whole thing has been a farce from beginning to end . The only winner is the PA who have succeeded in releasing 78 serial killers .
22. political spin & Israeli double talk
Bill ,   Skokie Il. U.S.A.   (04.23.14)
The Palestinians are achieving a united front and a political consensess in order to p[resent themselves as a unified body sio that any peace deal signed will be real. This is a reply to Israels deragatory statement that Mr. Abbas does not represent the Palestinian population as a whole. Democracy dictates that all fractions have a say and representation Hamas must be included and given a seat at the table.
23. When Hamas meets the three simple requirements placed upon
N.L.Katz ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (04.23.14)
it by the entire international community, i.e. UN EU US and Russia, it too will be able to be part of the family of nations and a party to peace talks with the State of Israel: 1) Accept Israel's RIGHT to be, to exist as the sovereign nation-state of the Jewish people 2) Cease all acts of violence and terror an decommission all illicit weapons 3) Adhere to all agreements reached with Israel and signed by the parties Hamas won't be part of any interaction with Israel until and unless its meets the above demands by the international community!!

arne ,   chicago usa   (04.23.14)
the "talks"--The Pal's are in no need of a state--they can't manage one and this is a good move on their part.Makes Israel look like they are calling the "peace process" off.
30. palistinian unity BS
Steve Goodman ,   Israel   (04.23.14)
now they can blame the other terrorists groups not in their unity package......now watch the west bank pals. join hammas, and we will be at the mercy of additional rocket, mortar and sniper attacks.......you can paint over a leopards spots and a zebras stripes....but in the end you still have a leopard and a zebra.......AM YISROEL CHAI
