1. Excellent Article. Thanks.

2. US is biased towards Israel, obviously
TaylorT ,   Earth   (04.25.14)
And yet all you morons do is complain. It's simple: if you make peace with the Palestinians, it will take away sufficient hate of you ingrates to allow the majority of people everywhere (including in the MidEast) to tolerate you. Of course some will still hate you--you've been a bunch of total asses for decades. OR you can keep doing what you're doing and always blame others--and soon US support will erode and your enemies will have nukes. Between a rock and a hard place, eh? Perhaps you should have reined in those settler freaks earlier...
3. Jihad is holy war regardless of what anyone says
CJK   (04.25.14)
if muslims wanted to regard jihad as a struggle against the temptation to eat during ramadan, then they would stay home and have a peaceful conversation with those close and dear to them. but, no, muslims spread out throughout the world, wage jihad against innocents and do all in their power to impose their values and their sharia laws in foreign lands on foreign peoples. there is no doubt that muslims do not consider jewish sovereignty in any part of the land of israel as legitimate. muslims consider the entire land of israel as an islamic waqf, hence holy islamic land, and hence land to be liberated by jihad.
4. "One must start with the fact" Jews invaded Palestine, not
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (04.25.14)
...other way around. Native Americans, Native Palestinians, did not invade Europe, and are not terrorists for defending their land and people. Israel and Palestine are not "equal", in the same way Cowboys and Indians were not equal. One is much more powerful than the other, and "ergo", more responsible. Jews started this mess, with their "success", greed for wealth and power, abusing their host countries, Germany, Russia, Hungary, Poland, and Ukraine. European Jews had to flee Europe, when well known anti-Semite Adolf Hitler won the German election in 1933 with almost 50% of the German vote, leading to WWII, and Holocaust.
5. Very simple problem, very simple solution: once recognized
tom ,   tel aviv   (04.25.14)
as violent, anti democratic (dare say-anti-human) doctrine , Islam has to be defeated and frankly, eradicated from the face of this planet in order to achieve peace in the Middle East.
6. american mistake
e. evron ,   uk   (04.25.14)
the biggest mistake in American policy in middle east is that they equate the 2 sides. on one side the state of Israel on the other side some arab refugees who elevated themselves to the rank of state and endowed themselves with fictional history to the time of adam. it is like equating the british with i.r.a or usa with alqaida
7. Contradiction of policies
tiki ,   belgium   (04.25.14)
Sadly, when it comes to the ''poor Palestinians" all logic, values & clear thinking goes out the window! Palestinian Democratic rules? Who needs them! Palestinian Woman's rights? Who wants them! Palestinian Free speech? To dangerous! Palestinians executing & excusing terror? Necessary! Israel pardoning terrorists? Why not! Democratic Israel being demonized by the West? The're just Jews! Etc.etc. etc.. Western values are being eroded and killed softly, but the conflict keeps growing.
8. Problem: Idiot leftist Israelis for 9 mile wide Israel.
Chaim ,   Israel   (04.26.14)
Israel can't logically criticize America's support for "Palestine" as long as Israel's government pretends to accept the monstrous Two State Final Solution. Incredibly, idiot Israeli leftists think a 9 mile wide Israel is a good thing!!
9. One must start with the fact" Arabs invaded Middle East, not
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (04.26.14)
10. # 2 I don't care what people like...
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (04.25.14)
you think. If you liked me I'd know I was doing something wrong and I would be embarrassed.

Apparently you haven't read a newspaper or scanned the internet in the last oh, ten years or so. If you had, you'd see that Arabs and Muslims seem rather incapable living with each other, let alone with Jews. If you took your head out your ass for a minute, you'd see that Suni and Shia routinely slaughter one another in Syria, Lebanon, and Iraq. Then there is Egypt, that paragon of modernity where not only are Muslims fighting fellow Muslims but killing their fellow Arab Coptic Christians as well. Oh, the same Arab brotherly love is also on display in Sudan. Given the level of cruelty and barbarity that Arabs show towards one another I would say contradicts your well-thought out theories.
12. Mitchell was absolutely right
Shachar ,   Eilat   (04.27.14)
In fact they are inevitably solved or simply peter out. But that doesn't mean it will happen now. The current turmoil in Arab society leaves little chance of significant change, nor does the growing nationalism in Israeli society. Both sides have more to lose with peace than any possible gain....so there won't be peace, just endless games
