atilla karagözoğlu   (04.24.14)
they killed us because we are different ! they killed us because we are better ! they killed us because they dont understand us. they killed us because they are bad. they killed us because they were racists. it is very difficult to have the responsibiliy for their future. you can make them good. you can make them bad. BUT YOU WONT LET THEM TO DECIDE FOR THEIR OWN. your childreen. your rights.
2. That's sick!
Non jewish immigrant ,   Haifa   (04.24.14)
Teaching preschoolers about holocaust is sick and terrifying. Israel should concentrate about educating its kids about civilities and environment
3. Very important
Sam ,   PT   (04.24.14)
for preschool babies to cry all night from nightmares. Instead, the Ed Min would be better off teaching Jewish students in public schools about their Jewish heritage. Some Torah and Gemara wouldn't hurt either. It might put some brains in their illiterate minds and might even reduce the violence in public schools. Maybe the Ed Min himself can use some teaching.
4. Ridiculous
Sarah B ,   Tel Aviv/London   (04.24.14)
Jews and the heritage of the Jews is more than just the Holocaust. Merely our so called political leaders engaging in a bit of fear mongering and catching them young
5. Is this a joke?
Avi ,   NYC, USA   (04.24.14)
Are you also going to teach kids in kindergarten about Jewish involvement in the gulags in USSR? About the Holodomor?
6. Kindergarten and Holocaust

Are all those "educators" and psychologists whacky? You need to institute a program of Holocaust studies for 5-6-7 year old kids? Enough for their teacher to tell them something for 5 minutes before the siren. The historical education can begin several years down the line. How about teaching them a bit of Torah, Prayers, Jewish stuff so they can join the rest of Am Yisrael and not just be "Israeli"? We've turned the Holocaust into Judaism. Stronger Jewish Identity is the best antidote to to the Holocaust which, by the way, is NOT suitable for such young children. Everything in its due time.
7. silly
Larry ,   LA (formerly)   (04.24.14)
Holocaust education is very important and should be in every Israeli school including Charadi, but only when they are able to understand it. It is too serious to teach kindergarten children whose level of grasp is not on par with the subject matter. It should be a required subject, but only when the child is old enough to understand the true horror of the holocaust.
8. THIS IS AN UNWARRANTED TRAUMATIZING PLAN
stude ham   (04.24.14)
for young children too helpless to defend themselves from the real psychological harms these revelations can and do produce. Maybe the school bosses who come up with these monstrous ideas should be made to console these young children crying at home because of what they were shown.
9. Teach "Genocide in history" --Wikipedia
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (04.24.14)
Example... Photo..."Naked Soviet POWs in Mauthausen concentration camp. "... the murder of at least 3.3 million Soviet POWs is one of the least-known of modern genocides; there is still no full-length book on the subject in English." —Adam Jones" --Wikipedia
10. They shouldn't forget to teach them
Dan   (04.24.14)
how hundreds of thousands of Jews perished because the Zionists refused to allow them into Palestine and save them.
11. Are you guys for real??
Darren Ben John ,   Townsville Australia   (04.24.14)
Teaching kindergarten kids their fate? Words such as propaganda, indoctrination and brain-washing come to mind. Israel is NOT a democracy as we know the meaning of the word in the West. BDS!
12. Gotta keep the industry going.

"for preschool babies to cry all night from nightmares." Sam, I was 11 and learned about the Holocaust right after 9/11, when I just entered middle school, and while I was dealing with the fallout of a very-bad family situation. That's also the time when my Obsessive Compulsive Disorder set off. Life happens; tragedy happens, and you can't ignore it or even be oblivious to it just because you're young, vunerable, and/or dealing with other issues.

While I believe that everyone around the world MUST earn about the Holocaust, it is definitely NOT appropriate in any circumstance for kindergarten children. I will explain my point of view as a very personal one. I visited Germany when I was 18 years old. Even though I knew about the war and the Holocaust, I could never fathom the horrors that I saw when my German (non-Jewish) aunt took me to Dahau and told me that I must see this. I was absolutely shocked. This has affected me throughout my life. To the point, that I, as a non-Jew myself, have dreams (just had another one recently) that the SS is searching for me and I only wake up when they are capturing me and have dogs on me. My whole life I have been obsessed with the question of how can one human being be so monstrous towards others. I have read numerous books, seen documentaries, seen films on the subject. Kindergarten children are very impressionable. I would never tell a child so young such a horrendous lesson. I believe strongly that this is detrimental to their sound young minds. Let them be happy children while they still have a chance!!!!

Let every people, in every country learn about that. Not/never again. Israel, the rest of our planet of Earth and humankind, forever and always!
