1. the arab spring has proven there is a need for israels nukes
zionist forever   (04.29.14)
For decades apart from terrorism the region was fairly calm, Israel was an enemy of Syria officially but there was a ceasefire in place. Egypt was stable under Mubarak for 30 years Egypt also has more modern tanks than Israel, a bigger navy and about the same number of fighter jets and they are now buying new subs and MIG 29 which is the Russian version of the F15 the US always refused to sell to Egypt to maintain the balance of power and at the same time the IAF is retiring jets and warships are reaching the end of their service life and not being replaced. Gaddafi was stable Iran was not an emerging regional superpower ( Iran spends alot more on weapons development than Israel ) There was reason to think back then there is no need to have the nukes anymore. Now in about 3 years the region has started tearing itself apart, Assad has used chemical weapons, Russia is trying to affect the balance of power now more than ever Israel needs nukes, you never know whats round the corner and without the nuclear deterent whats to stop some crazy ayatollah or arab leader firing a volley of missiles into Israel causing mass casualties or even worse Iran getting nukes of Saudi Arabia buying them. Close Dimona ASAP its the oldest operational nuclear reactor in the world but keep the bombs.
2. Get stuffed . .
Mike ,   NZ   (04.29.14)
The next time some lunatic comes looking for a Jew to kill, they will find that Jew ready to fight . . And if that means the use of nuclear weapons, then so be it. So my advise . . Get stuffed ,
3. Excuse me ....
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.29.14)
Did they say "demand?" Oh, that's rich. I demand that the whole nonaligned movement go piss up a rope.
4. Ya right
Josh ,   Melbourne   (04.29.14)
now they work to destitute the Jews from the only means for a last resort survival. What then? A new complex of gaz chambers in Mecca or Medina? Israel; do not trust gentiles even after 40 years in the grave.
5. Oh, but they're "aligned" all right!Takes a special kind of
tom ,   tel aviv   (04.29.14)
hutzpa to call oneself by the very OPPOSITE that one represents. Guess who's Master of this technique? Yes- the Religion of Peace and it's practitioners.
6. There is an islamic nclear bomb already
Alexander Scheiner ,   Israel   (04.29.14)
Pakistan has about 50-100 nuclear bombs. I am sure, that they will be made available to other Islamic nations and Arab and Islamic terror organizations. The entire Islamic umma has one target: to destroy Israel and Jews. rememberamalek.blogspot
7. "non -Alighned Nations
Abe ,   Mameroneck N.Y.   (04.29.14)
The hippo rocky of the Non Alighned Nations is has no limits.Tjhis Organization is very quite when it comes to Iran and its ambitions, It is quite when it comes to Syria actually using WMD on its people. The U.N. is now hostage to the Islamic Nation who can pass any resolution in the General Assembly. Some European Nation concerned with their demographic changes are feerful of antagonizing the Muslom Conference/ Non-Alighned Nations.
8. "Speak softly and carry a big stick"
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (04.29.14)
Israel exists today thanks to her deterrent factor i.e ambiguity in this matter. If allowed the same status as the US, Russia, UK, France and China...maybe consider joining -otherwise...lump it!
9. Sarah B should stand for the US presidency and win
zionist forever   (04.29.14)
10. Why bother?
(04.29.14)
This call is simply another attack on Israel. The NPT exists to allow countries to gain access to nuclear technology if they expose themselves to international inspection and promise not to develop nuclear weapons. Israel does not need such access, so has no reason to expose itself to Arab espionage. In any case, the NPT has failed miserably. NPT has failed to disarm the UK and France, two countries who use nukes only to maintain the remnants of their empires. NPT has failed to prevent signatories like Syria, Iran and Iraq from using technologies they received from developing nukes NPT is now failing as Saudi Arabia, Japan and apparently South Korea are now actively acquiring nukes for defense.
11. Who in the Indo head dares to demand of Israel?
Israeli 2   (04.29.14)
Who at the UN dares to demand anything from Israel. 1) Israel never admitted having nuclear weapons. 2) Until then ... screw off.
12. How about the Islamic Pakis and India
Rod ,   Fargo N.Dakota   (04.29.14)
13. #1: you are absolutely wrong!
tom ,   toronto, canada   (04.29.14)
to think in terms of "deterrence" is a fatal mistake in the middle east. you can't "deter" a suicide bomber, and it's arguable whether the mullahcracy in tehran actually expects to survive ww3, but it doesn't stop them from picking on the "great satan" or the "little satan". the "religion of peace" promises unbelievable rewards in the afterlife; so much so, that "true believers" are ready to blow themselves up for the cause. yes, we must keep such dangerous "toys" out of the hands of fanatical maniacs, but we cannot make the mistake of relying on their sense of self-preservation - it has never stopped them from attacking us.
14. the nnpt is a sham
(04.29.14)
the nnpt was invented as a mechanism FOR nuclear proliferation, not to prevent it. it's nothing more than a formula for selling nuclear technology to non-nuclear countries, based on an artificial distinction between "peaceful" and "military" uses. but the truth is, the little atoms don't know and don't care, and the treaty has no teeth. (as when iraq told the inspectors to get lost.) and now the arabs want to use it to bash israel.
