1. Medical Treatment in Israel
Rafi ,   Merkaz, Israel   (04.29.14)
With all due respect, why are my tax shekels paying for a foreigner's medical treatment? First, wounded Syrians, now Ukrainians. Meanwhile, our poor are getting poorer while our taxes and COL do nothing but go up.
2. Let us pray

3. Free Treatment? to #1
Andi ,   Israel   (04.29.14)
Who says he is not going to pay? The Syrians don't pay I am sure, but Israel has a huge medico-tourism industry especially from Russia and Ukraine, and Israeli hospitals makes millions each year from foreign patients

The article did say that the hospital this man went to was a PRIVATE hospital, which does rather suggest that he and his family would have had to pay for the treatment from their own funds....

Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay,   (04.29.14)
"Before he became mayor in 2010, Kernes was seen as the power behind the throne and a key intermediary between the government and the criminal underworld. He has a criminal conviction and is universally known by his reputed mafia nickname, “Gepa.”" "Russian state TV recently ran a phone tap from a conversation between Kernes and oligarch Igor Kolomoisky, now governor of neighboring Dnipropetrovsk. Both men have long been believed to be high rollers in east Ukrainian criminal circles." "“We helped you get everything done, and you helped us get rich,” a voice similar to Kernes’ says on the tape, which could not be independently verified." -Buzzfeed, Gennady Kernes

11. Treating sick is admirable, no political meaning to it.
Michael ,   California, USA   (04.29.14)
He is sick and Israel has the means to treat him. The treatment of this private individual is performed in a private hospital and it has nothing to do with his Jewish ethnicity and nothing to do with his political views. I am sure treating him does not deprive an Israeli citizen from receiving hospital care. Israeli citizens' needs are of the highest priority in their country, no questions asked. Offering treatment to a foreigner, when possible, is a noble and admirable act.
