Which part of "one side has vowed to destroy the other" does he not get? The PLO, with whom Israel has been negotiating for 20 years, still has not changed its charter to remove the goal of destroying Israel and taking all the land from the sea to the Jordan river. Even though it was a commitment they made in signing the Oslo accord. Hamas, has never claimed to have any other agenda and is still calling for the destruction of all Israel. When the UK and the IRA made "peace" the IRA at least renounced violence as a precondition to the talks. No one seems to realize that the Palestinians will never do this even as part of a "final" agreement.

john kerry was perhaps a supporter of israel while he was a member of the us senate, but his remarks regarding israel since he became secretary of state have been hugely unhelpful. israeli ambassador to the us ron dermer's comments must be understood in the context of necessary diplomacy and diplomatic niceties between two allies. the obama administration needs to understand that bullying and humiliating the jewish state will not achieve a lasting peace. to the contrary, such open diplomatic war against israel will only embolden those who in the muslim world are bent on the destruction of the jewish state and the murder of its jewish population. any attempt by the united states to impose a pax americana on the sovereign jewish state will only lead to generations of bloody wars. obama and his european partners must understand that they cannot create a new arab state or to determine unilaterally the borders of the sovereign jewish state of israel. they have no such authority under international law.

That is far less important than the Oblabla /Kerry diplomatic failures and their attempts at bribing the "palestinians" into living in making peace and joining modern civilization with Israel..

They will be in no rush to come back to the negotiating table. They will continue to move forward with their ultimate plans while expecting Israel to remain stagnant.

Unfortunately, that is a call from a still weak, un-democratic institution, from New York City, United States, founded in 1945, which will probably not have any consequence. Also, Israel, forever, ever and always!

Give us someone that has intelligence, that we can negotiate with, then we may think about it. Until then, forget it.

there can be no end to the conflict between the sovereign jewish state of israel and the arab muslim world, represented by the arab league, as long as the legitimate jewish sovereignty in the land of israel is not fully recognised by the arab muslim world. the arab palestinians are only following the dictates of the larger arab muslim world, mostly dominated by islamists and hard core arab nationalists. these islamists and arab nationalists consider the very existence of the jewish state as a "cancer" and a dagger in the heart of the arab muslim world.
