1. Terrorism again
Rod ,   Fargo N.Dakota   (05.04.14)
Let me know if it's possible for these geniuses to tell the difference between blowing up a restaurant, disco or shooting a family to death. And vandalism that happens in every country daily. Should i consider anyone who vandalizes a house of worship in the US. or anywhere else in the world.Equally as bad as the WTC Bombers or the Boston Bombers. The people who vandalize a house of worship in France with the terrorist who killed 2 children and a Rabbi in the Marseille Jewish Day School..You guys in Israel need to get a grip. You're really cheapening the meaning of Terrorism
2. Stating the obvious.
Philip ,   Afula, Israel   (05.04.14)
Anybody in their right mind knows that the government has no intention of solving the "price tag crimes". But whats new in Israel, plenty of laws but not much law enforcement.
3. As per usual the supporters of price tag missing the point
Gideon78 ,   cpt, South Africa   (05.04.14)
So from what I hear, the supporters think that the price taggers are not terrorists... So we first need to wait for them to kill innocent people before we can label them terrorists...all terrorists started off as vandals due to their discriminatory tendencies... Until they escalated to killing... Rather we stop them in their tracks before murder occurs... Are the supporters of price taggers that stupid? It would look like it. On top of it do the supporters of the price taggers and the price taggers themselves understand how much of a harder job they make for us in the diaspora? Do you understand how this gives Israel Apartheid Week activists fuel for the fire? We the pro-Israel crowd take 2 steps forward and the price taggers make us all go back 5 steps. The bottomline is they need to be stopped, before innocents get murdered... Because that will ultimately happen if nothing is done.
4. Terrorism???
Yaniv ,   Uk   (05.04.14)
I think the former head of the shin bet and all others alike should check the definition in the dictionary what terrorism means because it certainly does not equal to vandalism. I for one do not agree with price tags in any form what so ever and think more should be done to stop this. I also think by blaming a particular sector without proof is injustice and only serves the enemy, what's happened to "innocent until proven guilty". When the national flags in Yafo where vandalized last week, I did not hear the word terrorism in the media but the correct word of vandalism. I did not year the word terrorism used by any media outlet after London riots which was far more severe which also involved innocent being killed.
5. Gideon from SA
Bandoo ,   Il   (05.04.14)
So what would you suggest if it turns out to be arab provocateurs that did the deed as in several cases in the past including cutting their own olive trees and then blaming the Jews for it. How would you handle that Gideon in your hasbara campaign. There are several examples of the arabs doing this themselves and being found out online if you check around and then come back and share with us the fruits of your labors with a link or two. Thank you, BTW I don't think people around here go from graffitti to murder like they do where you are in SA, sorry..
6. Frightening
PEM ,   Israel   (05.04.14)
It is frightenining to see how a people who have suffered the torment of racial and religious hatred, have turned into tormentors themselves. It is frightening to see how those same paople who exprees selfrighteous outrage against the desecration of our People's graves and our holy sites in Europe and elsewhere, can justify and explain away those same acts, when the acts are committed not against us but against Arabs and Christians. Suddenly, it is kosher to do that? It is absurd that people justify these disgusting acts of intolerance and hatred by saying that we were persecuted in the past. So...what? The victims have become the monsters, and it is all ok now? It is actually both terrifying and sickening to see the descendants of people who were terrorized and tormented by the Brownshirts in Germany before 1936, actually committing the same atrocious acts against others - and their families and communities hide them and protect them from justice. Now, it seems, we have our own "Brownshirts". The question is, will there be any "Righteous Jews", like in Yad VaShem we have a forest for Righteous Gentiles? Only a week ago we commemorated the Holocaust victims - victims of acts of racial and religious hatred . The Holocaust started with vandalism and sacrilege, with bullying and terrorizing the Jews, in order to "encourage" them to leave of their own volition. Only later it escalated into the Final Solution and genocide. And now there are those among us who commit those same acts - and see nothing wrong with it. People who support thes Price Tag acts and pooh pooh the danger inherent in them, by saying that it is "just vandalism", as ooposed to murder and killing, have relinquished the right to protest acts of racism against Jews from now on. How ludicous is it that these people compare their moral consciences to those of barabarians and mass murderers? Are these the morals that are supposed to guide our behavior? If another intifada breaks out and more people are killed and maimed, it will be these Price Tag provocators and their supporters who will be responsible for the deaths and damage that will follow. They will no longer be able to blame Oslo and "The Leftists" - which they love to do today. It will be on them.
7. Shin Bet can stop "price tag" activities
Gerda Benjamin ,   Israel   (05.04.14)
Under Mr. Gillon's watch, they couldn't stop a prime minister from being assassinated; why should we believe they'd be any more successful stopping "price-taggers'? And if a prime minister was assassinated on my watch, I would not have the temerity to offer a public opinion on anything except where and why I went wrong.
8. Isn't vandalizing synagogues and Arab murder as important
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.04.14)
as "price tags" against Arabs? Is the galut mentality so strong in the secular that all they care about is tlc the Arabs? Is this why we need our Jewish land? By the way, there's no such thing as "Jewish terrorism" and you know that well. There were never any Jewish terrorists. They can murderers but terrorists, never. So leave this description to the ones who are...
9. Gillon is delusional
Lila ,   Jerusalem. Israel   (05.04.14)
His college thesis was all about "Jewish terror" Jewish terror? He's delusional. Graffiti and making hamburger of a young Jewish girl are the same to him. Can someone please give this guy American citizenship and get him the heck out of Israel?
10. Wait a minute... carmi the man who
Daniel ,   TA - Il   (05.04.14)
brought us avishai raviv and, who can forget, the jewsih terror orginization 'Eyal', which was a shabac demonization hoax. When this guy raises his head, we know what time it is and why the shabac does not want to catch it provocateurs. All is allowed when demonizing the right and jews who want to be jews.
11. I call BS
(05.04.14)
I challenge Gillon, the man responsible for Rabin's murder, to go all the way with his ideas. Let's make two decisions. First, deputize soldiers and armed civilians to shoot to kill graffiti artists. Gillon has nothing to fear if it is Jews who draw the graffiti and not Leftist provocateurs. Second, if graffiti is terrorism, beating someone with an iron bar is worse terrorism. The person who ordered Shabak agent Avishai Raviv to attack MK Tamar Guzanski with an iron bar (someone called Carmi Gillon) should immediately be jailed for leading a terrorist ring and inciting terrorism. How about it, Carmi?
12. #3 sanity?
(05.04.14)
Is there anyone who supports "Price Tag"? No Zionist Right winger supports any graffiti. They say when an Arab grave is desecrated by a Jew, Arab or Leftists, it is just as bad as when a Jewish grave is desecrated by an Arab or Leftist. The Zionists say there have been more Jewish graves desecrated than Arab graves, and most Arab graves have been desecrated by Leftists than anyone else, so the police and Shabak should handle both with equal seriousness. The Leftists like Gillon ignore the massive number of attacks on Jews (including physical attacks like in Lod, French Hill, Mount of Olives, Shiloah) but emphasize the minute number of attacks on Arabs (6 in the last 6 months, all graffiti). You can't avoid it: reality is that the Leftists are corrupt, hypocritical or insane.
13. Definition of terrorism
Harri ,   EU   (05.04.14)
Terrorism is politically motivated violence against civilians that is intended to create fear. Acts of those price tag lunatics match definition of terrorism. And like Gideon78 said, they give Israel enemies fuel to the fire. Price tag lunatics harm Israel much more than Palestinian terrorists. Every rocket from Gaza makes Israel case stronger on international forums, while Price tag lunatics added Israel into US terrorism reports where Israel was accused of supporting price tag attacs.
14. So why he hadn't stop Rabin assassination? He was SB's boss
ab   (05.04.14)
then, not ? During his stint as Ambassador to Denmark he was entertaining Herbert Abu Pundak in Embassy, while the latter was organizing anti-Israel demos together with PFLP and penning articles praising the Dolphinarium Bomber(22 Israeli teenage girls murdered) as "The Bomber who saved the peace"
15. 13
Yaniv ,   Uk   (05.04.14)
I own a kosher Jewish retail business in London, and since I've been established 25 plus years ago my has business has been vandalized and verbal anti Semitic remarks more than at least 10 occasions, all because it's a Jewish establishment. Not once did the police treat it as terrorism and on two occasions the perpetrators were caught and was let go with a caution and without even paying for the damage. They of course should have received a harsher punishment but to equal it to terrorism is absurd. There isn't a democracy that doesn't suffer from vandalism that's associated with antisemitism that will treat it as terrorism.
16. Stop real "Palestinian" terrorism. Not graffiti scrawlers.
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.04.14)
While "Palestinian" terrorists are maiming and murdering Israelis at will, leftist media and politicians are trying to whip up hysteria against Jewish juvenile graffiti scrawlers!
17. Tagging. Government approved & funded
James USA   (05.04.14)
18. #3. Your point is pathetic, fearful & foolish.
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.05.14)
The message of your post is heaven forbid Israelis should do anything to make BDS and other haters even more upset. This is the reasoning of fearful fools. Your point is pathetic.
19. No harm some grafitti
Sam ,   ME   (05.04.14)
or some broken glass ... hold on a minute !!!
20. Ethnic cleansing requires sustained price tag, IDF violence
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (05.04.14)
...to steal acre by acre, forcing the native Palestinians to despair, and give up their land, inch by inch.
21. Yes stop. It's degrading to Israel and humankind
(05.05.14)
22. good solid article. #3 Gideon is also spot-on.
Rafi ,   US   (05.05.14)
Only right-wing Talkbackers would quibble whether these acts are vandalism or terrorism... The acts are at a minimum VIOLENT & ILLEGAL thuggery... with the clear intent to incite further violence & hatred. Shin Bet should investigate; the gangs of thugs should be identified, prosecuted, and jailed for long durations. This would be a direct benefit to Israel functioning as a nation under law - vs. a jungle of thugs...
