this is not the first instance of pakistani involvement in terrorism. the 2008 attack on jewish targets in mumbai, directed by cellphone from pakistan, and osama bin laden's "hideout" in a city in pakistan, point to the involvement of pakistani intelligence in sheltering and directing islamist terrorism. this is most peculiar for a country that receives large amounts of american (military) aid and political support. and it is most troubling when pakistan is also a nuclear-armed country. if obama and kerry really wanted to promote "whirled peas", they would be working overtime to negotiate mutual nuclear disarmament between india and pakistan - two countries that neither need, nor can afford, nukes.
