1. Rain and Israel
Sjoerd van der Velde ,   Hoorn, Holland   (05.08.14)
It is to be hoped that not entire Israel is under water, because of the weather. My thoughts and sympathy goes to Israel, also because of that bad weather condition and consequence. Also, Israel, forever, ever and always!
2. And I've got a leak in my apt. in Jerusalem
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, UsA   (05.08.14)
My group toured the then very hot and dry Arava only early last week, so we missed the desert flooding. Instead, I awoke to a leak by the liviing room window this morning where I'm temporarily domiciled. Yesterday I was sweating with my bags. This morning I needed a light jacket against the cool morning drizzle. Raymond, now in Jerusalem
3. My kingdom for a civil engineer
Vered, Israel   (05.08.14)
Why does moderate rainfall bring Israel to a standstill? Why do buildings leak? Why do roads get flooded so easily? We have the most predictable weather in the world. It rains A LOT in the winter and spring. We know it's coming. Why can't our infrastructure withstand it?
4. Dead Sea
Sam ,   USA   (05.08.14)
Hope the Dead Sea is getting filled.
5. Sjored, these aren't "bad weather conditions"
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (05.08.14)
Israel has two the cool "rain" season, running from October to April, and the warm dry season the rest of the year. The country needs those rains to replenish its sources of fresh water - primarily the Sea of Galilee and the aquifers. This past rain season wasn't particularly rainy, so this surprise rain shower, while an inconvenience, isn't unwelcome.
6. Aside from the fact that the south has been flooded,
miri ,   israel   (05.08.14)
I absolutely love when it rains this time of the year and wish it would do so throughout the summer months !
7. My report from Haifa - humid, humid and humid
barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (05.08.14)
Very slightly cooled off - not enough because of the humidity - drizzles but very mild day. Why didn't all of you come north instead?
8. rain
jeremy ,   hula valley kibbutz   (05.08.14)
So So loving this stormy weather, as a farmer we need it badly and best part is I get a few days off
9. Baruch Hashem
Ellen ,   Israel/NYC   (05.08.14)
After a very very dry winter, Israel a country always on the edge of drought should be thankful and offer prayers for this unexpected Spring gift. We do not complain when it rains in the winter, we can't complain when it rains in the spring. Rain and water are life for the country.
10. We need water more than we need food
Arnold ,   Montreal-Canada   (05.08.14)
For the countries in the region this is a blessing. Rain water to fill the lakes , rivers, streams , and most important the underground water wells.
