Remember the acts of the Jewish Underground of '78-'84?Bombings of Arab buses as forms of 'payback'. A plot to blow up the Dome of the Rock to remove Arab claims to Har Habayit. The perps admitted that they were connected to Gush Emunim, the radical wing of Religious Zionism. George Santayana once said: Those who choose to ignore history are condemned to repeat it.

As a non-leftist ,Jewish, fervent supporter of Israel, I must say that these acts of vandalism and graffiti are ignorant, downright stupid, and harmful to Israel. They do not help Israel in any way. Of course, they are inconsequential in comparison to murder and mayhem, but that is not the point. These acts of graffiti do not contribute to Israel's defense. They cause unnecessary intimidation to others and unnecessary harm to Israel's image. Do you all get this?
4. #1 Because the Pope rules Eurovision?
Daniel   (05.09.14)
Tom, if you think that the Pope is the head of the Eurovision Song Contest, you might want to think again.

if i compare the situation of israel in the past with the role and reputation today, alot changed. in the past israel represented democracy, modernism, technology and progress. today it represent irrationality, vulgari propaganda, racism and social injustice.
6. No CCTV cameras in Israel?
Darren Ben John ,   Townsville Australia   (05.09.14)
Are the Israelis too afraid to convict their own or are the cameras simply not working or the footage ignored?
7. Assuming facts not in evidence

The Arabs were wildly successful beyond their imaginings in getting people to believe that Jews are responsible for all the price tag events -- when in fact, Arabs are responsible for most of them and for all of the serious ones, particularly those in Arab villages -- so they have decided to branch out. But I will admit quite candidly that I could care less about a papal visit to Israel, and I doubt I will feel a scintilla of regret should the trip be canceled. I don't really care about vandalized churches, either. When I think about all the synagogues that were destroyed by church directive over the millennia; often burnt down with Jewish worshipers inside -- what's a little graffiti?
8. What if?
Eric ,   Toronto   (05.09.14)
What if the people doing these were Arabs who want to cause problems between Israel and the Christian world? Do they have any proof that it's Jewish groups?

Oh come on! Be nice!! Pope Francisco is from Argentina! Beautiful south america, the country of our friend Ariel Messi, alfajores, tango, one of the favorite teams to win the football World Cup 2014 in Brazil. welcome to visit Israel ;-)

Also the country of Peron and a safe haven for Nazi war criminals. And chimichurri, hands down the most disgusting condiment ever invented. Not to mention the country of some ruthless military generals that would do the Nazis proud. Speaking of -- Francis kept a pretty low profile during the worst excesses of the military juntas in Argentina, did he not? His silence was, in fact, deafening, as it was with respect to the vicious and quite deadly attack on the AMIA in 1994, which killed over eighty innocent Jews and injured hundreds more. In your zeal to portray Francis in a beatific light, try not to overlook the facts too much, chica, okay?

Plenty! Of course, they only work if the Arab villages allow them to be installed -- they have routinely refused. And the churches in Israel have some sort of horror about changing the façade of those structures in any way, shape or form. In fact, some years ago, Israel was forced into court by the Christian overseers of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, because these "good Christians" objected to Israel's plans to fireproof the interior of the church and install additional exits. Now, I ask you: what do YOU think could conceivably happen in a service in a service where the hundreds of attendees all carry lit candles? An Arab terrorist's wet dream, is what it is. Anyway, the Church "fathers" said no, and Israel did the only sensible thing: closed the church. The wise jurists in the Hague agreed with Israel, by the way. I guess not everyone is as stupid as you.
