1. Amos Oz
Ariel ben Yochanan ,   Kfar Tapuah, Efraim   (05.12.14)
B"H - Maybe words are your profession Amos, but thinking Jewish is not. It's simple: Neo-Nazis are against the Jews, hilltops are not: There is a distinction to be made and you fail to make this distinction between "us" and "them". Also, no, "we" never wanted to be a nation like all nations, you secular anti-Torah people wanted this and you almost succeeded in separating the Jew from his G-d given Torah and G-d given Land in your traitorous labor Zionism.
2. All there is to be said about Oz is being said by himself.
tom ,   tel aviv   (05.12.14)
We should leave him and others like him to wonder the moral & intellectual desert they inhabit forever and ever...without any comments. A turd can be called "stinking" only so many times!
3. I Can't Wait To See You In Jail
Yishai Kohen ,   YeShA, Israel   (05.12.14)
You will be a man of words in jail.
4. And there are also Neo Stalinists, (a)moral Narcisists
anonymous ,   petach tikva   (05.12.14)
and Jewish antisemites who you are far too comfortable cavorting and collaborating with.
5. Is Oz evil, moronic or both?
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.12.14)
Oz has built his reputation, such as it is, on demonizing Israel and flattering our genocidal "Palestinian" foes. His conduct has always been suspect, to put it mildly. But calling Israelis residing in our more than 4,000 year Homeland of Judea and Samaria "Nazis" is beyond the pale. Is Oz evil, moronic or both?
6. "Neo-Hebrew" is correct term, not neo-Nazi...one hates Arabs
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (05.12.14)
...the other hates Jews.
7. This man is a SHAME !
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (05.12.14)
8. In my younger, do anything, buy...
Gideon Reader   (05.12.14)
...anything to support Israel, I purchased and attempted to read a book authored by Amos Oz. i found it extremely restfull. Serially restful. Everytime I opened it and tried to read, I rapidly dozed off. Gottenyu!! The bugger is a dead bore. His books a snore. Need I rhyme more?
9. This Guy is a Neo-Slanderer.
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (05.12.14)
10. Amos Oz
Mendoza ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (05.12.14)
Well I agree with him, and admire him from speaking out. I have long been amazed at the governments impotence in stamping out these price tags, until I concluded that many MK,s agreed with them. Racist ,Facist, Neo nazi, call it what you want its terrible and reflects a moral decay. So thank you Amos Oz for drawing the spotlight on this issue.
11. By Oz's definition Abbas is also a neo-Nazi
Allon   (05.12.14)
But he will never say that, because Arabs killing Jews is not as bad as the hooliganism of Jews towards Arabs. As long as he veers away from consistency then he is just playing a game of political correctness
12. All lefties can do is name calling
Daniel ,   TA - Il   (05.12.14)
by the way, nazis are socialists just like amos oz and hate jews... just like oz. What a sad excuse for ahuman being. maybe he should go to his paymasters in the eu.... an organization based on the ideas of walter halstein, a top nazi lawyer, whose ideas were the basis for aharon barak's judical activism Ego it seems that amos has much more in common with nazis than those who oppose them.
13. I have read lil about him, his parents were not
ghostq   (05.12.14)
Holocaust survivors, How does he know what really happened in Europe when his own familly wasn't there during the Holocaust in Europe. another point he missed, the refugee kamps r not 50 years old, Gaza as a refugee kamp already existed when this author was born in 1939.
14. All you need to know about Amos Oz....
Danny   (05.12.14)
"After we pull out from Lebanon, we can forget the word Hizbollah"
15. Ithis is the face of Israel
David ,   On this planet   (05.12.14)
It is an ugly one.
16. vandalism and terrorism
Akiva ,   NYC   (05.12.14)
'price tag' and 'hilltop youth' generally involve vandalism such as grafitti, which is not life-threatening, unlike terrorism or neo-nazi activity. When it comes to words one must avoid inflation. Hurling rocks that smash car windscreens and kill or injure those in the car is terrorism and neo-Nazi like. Spray painting offensive words is a crime of vandalism and must be prosecited as such.
17. Harsh Words Reveal Truth
Jane ,   Palm Beach, USA   (05.12.14)
For the love of Israel sometimes very harsh words must be said. Oz has a way of articulating what many supporters and people who love Israel are thinking and feeling. However painful these remarks may be, we must say what we believe which is that the attacks by hilltop terrorists must be stopped. We as a people cannot allow such lawlessness which only serves to shine a damaging light on the entire Jewish people. This is unacceptable by any standards.
18. are these comments real?
Go Amos   (05.12.14)
we need millions of Amos Oz. on both sides. Israeli and Arab. period.
19. "We must look the monster in the eye..."
Jake   (05.12.14)
"...and call it by it's name." Indeed. And this monster is not only made up the "price taggers" and "hilltop youth". It is also the extreme left: the folks who run B'tselem, Zokhrot, "Shalom Achshav". "Gesh Gvul". "+972", and other treacherous leftist anti-Zionist extremists in our midst, who incite the nations against Israel.
20. Amos Oz is wrong
Borislava ,   Sofia, Bulgaria   (05.12.14)
I never believed I would say this, much less write it to Amos Oz personally. My compliments, Mr. Oz, I'm your reader. In my opinion, you have to use your global authority to work for Israel. History teaches us how disappears Rzeczpospolita - much democracy surrounded by hostile and undemocratic neighbors. Israel today is a small democratic island in a sea of hatred. And tomorrow? Sorry for the cliché - if you want peace prepare for war ... and defend your interests in any manner. In this respect, the Palestinians are wonderfully trained in propaganda, manipulation and lies. Don’t add water to their mill, Mr. Oz, please!
21. Wizard of Oz
Yoelarry ,   New York City   (05.12.14)
Like many Jews on the left Mr. Oz is delusional. If he wants to commit suicide he should, with my blessing, do so. Just leave the rest of Israel's six million Jews out of it.
22. Amos, with all undue respect, there might be neo-Nazi, but
Moshe the Geniune   (05.12.14)
you are the same old vetust Stalinist.
23. "There is nothing the modern neo-Nazis in Europe are doing..
Zev ,   Israel   (05.12.14)
"There is nothing the modern neo-Nazis in Europe are doing that these groups are not doing here." I am surprised that a man who is thought to be intelligent can make this statement. He is doing everything that the Kapos did during the war. Does that make him a Kapo?
24. These are Amos Oz reasons...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (05.12.14)
1] Looking for a scapegoat to his lack of inspiration and success. 2}His outrageous statement published by Ynet is a cheap way to remember people that he still exists and his books are for sale Amos is a has been if not a never been. Forget about him I would like to see here more about Israeli writers whose ideas are worth to be spread. I feel rather ignorant in that field.
25. To No. 5
Bertram ,   London, UK   (05.12.14)
Chaim, the fact that you use the terms 'evil' and 'moronic' when referring to Amos Oz confirms to me that he is correct in his observations. Oz is a person who displays scholarship and deep thinking. On the other hand, you have yet to demonstrate even a modicum of intellect other than to constantly repeat your well-worn mantra. To coin a phrase - this should be obvious to any school child.
26. Jewish vandals
Hammer   (05.12.14)
There is an outrage when jewish cemeteries or sites are desecrated abroad. We normally call it neo-nazi attacks without too much nuancing, so nothing wrong with Amoz Oz definition. Jewish vandals are primitive barbarians and shame of Israel. Just face it. And fight it.
27. The Nazi party was a respected political party
Shachar ,   Eilat   (05.13.14)
in German society in the 1930's. The fact that german society freely voted for them lead them to believe that their actions were perfectly acceptable. Here the right is going down the same path( which doesn't mean the same results) and needs to be careful that it isn't rationalising the unthinkable into the thinkable.
28. Harsh Words Reveal Truth

29. Amos Oz - Man of Words?
Seth Greenberg ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (05.13.14)
Mr. Oz, while I do not support any act of violence or vandalism (and I don't know of any politicians or religious figures who do, as you claim exist in Israel), I most vehimently disagree with your comparison of Jewish vandals with Neo-Nazis. I do not believe your statement that you carefully considered your words. Though I do believe that you carefully crafted your defense. If you are falling back on the 'I am a man of words' argument, well, Hitler also wrote a best seller. It's still
30. If there were "Hebrew Nazis"
BH ,   Iowa   (05.12.14)
Mr Oz would be their number one supporter.
