1. Bill applies only to terrorists not yet sentenced
Dr. Aaron Lerner ,   Raanana. Israel   (05.11.14)
The proposed law applies only to murderers not yet sentenced. That is to say that it would not prevent the release of murderers now serving their sentence. I find it indeed puzzling that opponents of the bill want to make sure that terrorists who murder NOW can be released in a future deal. Perspective: when I interviewed Yossi Sarid at the start of Oslo he said post-Oslo Agreement terrorists would not be released. The it was obvious that post Oslo terror unnacceptable to both parties. And this should be policy today.
2. Strange: we need official bill to behave like normal humans!

3. What kind of foolishness is it to release terrorists
Sam ,   PT   (05.11.14)
who killed Israelis? Just because nobody in your personal family was killed, doesn't give you the right to release them. These terrorists with blood on their hands should be hung in the center of the city, wrapped in pigskin, instead of allowed to go free. Shame on Israel for their foolish ideas.
4. no Presidential pardons for murderers
Steve Goodman ,   Israel   (05.11.14)
Every now and then the Knesset proposes something inteligent, this is one of those times....taking this authority away from the President (a largely symbolic position) may not reduce the number of murders committed by both terrorist/s and others, but it will prevent the insane release of terrorists as chips to be played in any peace process, and others knowing that a "LIFE SENTENCE" is just what it says, with no chance of someone in a largely symbolic office granting a "PARDON"...now lets see if the Knesset will prevent the pain that bereaved families suffer everytime their is a release of murderer/s.....AM YISROEL CHAI

The biggest problem with the "prisoner release" is that it makes a mockery of the so-called justice system in Israel. The police can gather evidence, the prosecutors can present the case, the judge can make a stern face and give a harsh sentence. The whole time, the murderer can mock the bereaved and insult the court. A few months after sentencing, a corrupt government will release the murderer to a hero's welcome and a life of luxury, while condemning Jews who draw graffiti. It is strange that Israel's "justice minister" is the main opponent of this law. What does she care whether it is passed or not? She has proven her total disregard for the law when she accepted Ariel Sharon's bribes.
6. Thank G-d Almighty.
BUILD BABY BUILD !!!   (05.11.14)
Some justice finally for those who've lost their loved ones. Only one suggestion, the death penalty for any and all terrorists who have blood on their hands. Weren't we instructed, " An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth and, a life for a life'? Who are we to ignore the instructions from the most High? Shall we remain the perpetrators of ignorance when we, the chosen, were given laws from our G-d? We then are breaking the laws given us and this is the result pain. One added bonus, no pal terrorists would ever brag again that he'd be released early unless, he was in a coffin. KEEP BUILDING !!!! Keep the laws.
7. Let us be like other nations
Yechiel   (05.11.14)
Israel's terrorists are other peoples freedom fighters. This is how it is all over the world. Of course you free them in exchange for peace like after the Yom Kippur War, Israel and Egypt exchanged prisoners. Israel needs a new Prime Minister without fear of compromise. Netanyahu is afraid of his fanatic settler messianic base and this is leading to Israel being isolated in the region. It is time for Tzipi Livni to be given an opportunity to be PM and make peace with all 20 Arab countries including Saudi Arabia. This will be the salvation of the Israeli economy.
8. #7 the traitor....

Zippy Livni "was given an opportunity to be PM and make peace" in a process called elections. Despite massive support from the Obama regime, she barely managed to enter the Knesset. No one knows why she was rejected by Israelis. Some say it is because she is corrupt, some say because her only tangible achievement is engineering Israel's defeat in the Second Lebanon War thereby helping Assad butcher the Syrian people. Whatever the reason, Netanyahu gave her carte blanche to negotiate with Abbas. Her miserable failure at these negotiations surprised no one.

for all Israelis.
12. #7 Peace with all Arab nations
Moshe ,   Israel   (05.11.14)
Is possible by accepting the Arab Peace Offer from 2002, which stipulates it by Israel's withdrawal to the pre 1967 borders, and realizing "The right of return", thereby flooding the Jewish state with additional millions of Arabs. So, perhaps you are one of the Israelis who will be evicted from their residence to be replaced by such "refugees".
13. Yesh Atid voted AGAINST this bill
SK ,   NYC, USA   (05.11.14)
This article leaves out 2 important facts. 1. Yesh Atid voted Against this bill 2 it was Bayit Hayehudi's Ayelet Shaked that created this bill. 3. Bayit Hayehudi voted in favor of this bill Wonder why YNET chose not to include these FACTS...

Ginette Golden ,   Toronto, Canada   (05.11.14)
I agree with most of what you wrote except I will go one up...Israel should re-instate the death penalty for Arab terrorists who kill Israelis, usually cowardly and in cold blood. This will be the best deterrent than any law passed preventing a useless official (the President) to pardon these murderers. Rather than keeping them well fed and furthering their education in an Israeli jail. Doesn’t anyone feel the pain of the families who have experienced the death of a loved one (or in some cases a whole family) in the hands of terrorists? The release of those murderers never made sense to me! It just does not and it is high time that a new leader with balls is elected! Bogi comes to mind.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.12.14)
Amen! I completely agree. I'd much rather have the "Palestinians" demand the return of corpses than the release of terrorists. Hell, they wouldn't even have to ask. We'd probably offer to return their stinking remains -- don't want them polluting Israeli soil.
