1. Well, DUH!!!
Gideon Reader   (05.12.14)
After all It IS *Newsweak*. That means it is Time awaiting Chapter 19 or some other magical number, whereby it leaves additional space at the news agent's kiosk.. No one really expects any degree of accuracy in it's reportage in that rags (Did I just insult rags?) performance, do they?
2. With all due respect....
AVouskila ,   South America   (05.12.14)
Just to repeat the often used (and teffinetly abused) those who reside in a glace-house shouldn't throw boulders. The same rethoric traded by various Israeli apolegiists push away the 1960's soviet behaviour as something of the past, and since Israel considers itself very sophisticated-smart in the listening fields , it won't stoop to use those 'primitive' spying means, devices, habits...You have not given me a logical explanation why you still pursue Mordecai Wanunou after he's completed his sentence for his unpatriotic spying deed. Now, you're building some form of pre-emptive narrative to draw the American Intelligence community to reveal its real intent for the leaks (not yet for the two spying affairs the Old man and the Films producer....plus...) to Newsweek. Try some other explanation, not the visa which does not make sense in practical terms and the overide waist of time and money.
3. touchy subject
rm ,   NL Amsterdam   (05.12.14)
the more indignant Israel appears the more I am inclined to believe there is atleast some truth behind the accusations. Israel strongly believe they have a right to do virtually anything...all in the name of security ofcourse...They don't really trust the US even though it's their best beneficior..so why wouldn't they try and spy on it
4. the most outrageous accusation in these smear articles
CJK   (05.12.14)
it is stated that the united states congress and previous administrations had made policy which was contrary to us national security interests. the claim is that the us congress and members of previous administrations are being bought by jewish interests and sell out us national interests. such accusations are profoundly antisemitic.
5. some people are enraged
CJK   (05.12.14)
it is obvious that these newsweek articles would not have appeared without the approval of obama given the gravity and unusual nature of the accusations. obama is enraged that his bullying of israel has not succeeded. his attempt to force israel to accept his capitulation deal with iran has been rejected and his attempt to give the arab palestinians a state on a silver platter has not succeeded. obama is a very vindictive man, a man who never takes responsibility for his own failures. israel must prepare for more attempts to humiliate, denigrate and diminish her.
6. 3
CJK   (05.12.14)
israeli and american intelligence have worked closely together. furthermore, israel was declared a non-nato ally, and the two allies have signed numerous memoranda of understanding which require close cooperation in the fields of technology, intelligence, army/navy exercises. the us navy has open access to the port of haifa. us marines train in israel. israel is allowed to install its own avionics in warplanes bought from the united states. hence, the accusations against israel are undoubtedly grossly exaggerated.
7. It's quite alright to steal US technology
Dr. Merkwurdigliebe   (05.12.14)
As long as it's not used against them.
8. Hani, except Israeli "spies" are investigated
Danny   (05.12.14)
and there is very little outcry or consequences for the FBI doing the investigation so if Israeli spying truly is so serious and pervasive why are they not going after those ones?
9. Silicon Valley
FRED ,   USA   (05.12.14)
Its common knowledge here in the Valley that Israelis come here under the guise of a trade mission and steal many of our industrial secrets. it took millions if not billions of dollars to develop these some of the best high tech ops here and under the cover of a trade mission they down load the best of our software and bring back to Israel and claim it as their own. Our FBI has shown the proof to our congress and its up to them to find ways to curtail this form of aggressive intelligence gathering.
