To be fair in this case the EU was also at fault possibly even more so because Obama always dithers the EU are the ones who supported the rebels and after Libya France & England felt like superpowers again and wanted a second chance to be great powers again but Cameron lost the vote in Parliament, Olmert dithered and France was not willing to go it alone.
4. IDF close the borders...

I was asking months ago: why open the borders for the Syrian opposition? I can understand it a little bit: help and assistance for wounded. I hope they or even a few of them will remembered it! I have my doubts about it: the Baath-Alawi regime and the most of their enemies (the Sunnis) have one or two thing(s) in common: destroy Israel and/or Jewry. I think we can forget that "or".

...on Israel. "A Clean Break: A New Strategy for Securing the Realm... is a policy document that was prepared in 1996 by a study group led by Richard Perle for Benjamin Netanyahu, the then Prime Minister of Israel.[1] The report explained a new approach to solving Israel's security problems in the Middle East with an emphasis on "Western values". It has since been criticized for advocating an aggressive new policy including the removal of Saddam Hussein from power in Iraq, and the containment of Syria by engaging in proxy warfare and highlighting their possession of "weapons of mass destruction"."
