What is the point of negotiating with people who do not have the democratic support of their own people?
How on earth can Abbas claim to represent the Palestinians when the current parliament (elected 2006) is dominated by Hamas?
Having followed the press in UK for the last few months no one would guess that Abbas and his buddies lack democratic legitimacy.
