1. Should I feel sorry for them?
Arthur ,   SF, CA   (05.16.14)
Liars and thieves who wanted to destroy the Jewish State. You reap what you saw...
2. Soviet KGB Created Arab 'palestinians'
Truth Teller Two ,   Azerbaijan   (05.16.14)
SOVIET RUSSIA'S SECRET POLICE, THE CREATORS OF THE PLO AND THE 'PALESTINIAN PEOPLE' How Soviet Russia's secret police, the notorious KGB created the fraudulent nation of "Palestine" and incited the Muslim world against the US. The "peace process" is a charade. The revelations of the highest ranking Soviet bloc defector, Major General Ion Mihai Pacepa, show that the nation and people who call themselves "Palestinian" (as well as the 'peace process' itself), has from the outset, nothing but a charade. It all started with the creation of a fictitious "Palestinian People" who allegedly demand political self determination. This collective noun was created by the Soviet disinformation masters in 1964 when they created the Palestinian Liberation Organization, the "PLO". The term "Palestinian People" as a descriptive of Arabs in Palestine appeared for the first time in the preamble of the 1964 PLO Charter, drafted in Moscow. The Charter was affirmed by the first 422 members of the Palestinian National Council, handpicked by the KGB. Why in Moscow? The 1960s and 1970s were the years the Soviets were in the business of creating "liberation organizations": for Palestine and Bolivia in 1964, Columbia 1965, in the 70s "The Secret Army for the Liberation of Armenia" that bombed US airline offices in Europe, and "The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine that bombed Israelis." But the PLO, was by far its most enduring success.Pacepa has written "For nearly four decades, the PLO has been the largest, wealthiest, and most politically connected terrorist organization in the world. For most of that time, it was held in the firm grip of Yasser Arafat's iron fist. But Arafat was not the fierce, independent actor he posed as; he was completely dependent on the Soviet KGB and its surrogate Warsaw Pact intelligence services for arms, training, logistical support, funds, and direction. According to Pacepa his KGB handlers included Vasali Samoylenko, Vladimir Buljakov, and Soviet "Ambassador" Alexander Soldatov. Arafat's closest friend and head of PLO intelligence, Hani Hassan, was actually an agent of the DIE, the Romanian subsidiary of the KGB. In the PLO Charter preamble they actually had to use the phrase "Palestinian Arab People" to exclude those Jews who had retained a presence in Palestine since Biblical times and had been a majority population in Jerusalem as early as 1845.Romanian Communist dictator Ceausescu, at Soviet urging, persuaded Arafat to abandon his claim of wanting to annihilate the Jews in Israel in favor of "liberating the Palestinian People" in Israel. Why? A brilliant strategy. That was the first step in reframing the conflict between the Arabs and the Jews from religious jihad to secular nationalism in a quest for political self determination, a posture far less offensive to the West. By focusing on political liberation for a small group of Arabs, it ignored the fact that Israel is a small state whose existence is threatened by the surrounding Arab states.
3. Help "Palestinians" find better future elsewhere.
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.16.14)
Ynet is getting more like Haaretz every day. Why run articles sympathizing with Israel's would be mass murderers? I hope Ynet's motives are not as despicable and evil as Haaretz's. But I'm not convinced. The only thing Israel owes "Palestinians" is help to find a better future outside the sole tiny Jewish Homeland.
4. What's a nakba?
James ,   USA   (05.16.14)
From a Nakba denier, the whole thing did not exist, especially in the form it is presented. Volunataraly leaving the land was not expulsion and for those that took up arms against the Jews, fleeing was the only recourse for them. This is the same as throwing the first punch then crying to mommy after you get your a-ss handed back to you. Nakba, what nakba. BTW does the UN have a holocaust library or is it afraid of the deniers? Does it maintain a photo library of the multiple attacks on the Jews in Israel by the Arabs and so called Palestinians.? Does it have a library of Palestinians cheering for Sadaams scud missile attacks on Israeli civilians? Annex everything!
5. Qur'an Says That God Granted The Land Of Israel To The Child
Sheik Abdul Paleizo ,   Roma, Italia   (05.16.14)
ren of Israel: "It is written in the Holy Qur'an that God granted the Land of Israel to the Children of Israel and ordered them to settle therein (Qur'an, Sura 5:21) and that before the Last Day He will bring the Children of Israel to retake possession of their Land, gathering them from all different countries and nations (Qu'ran, Sura 17:104). Consequently, as a Muslim who abides by the Qur'an, I believe that opposing the existence of the State of Israel means opposing a Divine decree."-Sheik Abdul Paleizo
6. not one photo of jews kicked out of the arab countries !!!!
Naftulee ,   jersualem   (05.16.14)
what total UN discrimination against Israel and the jews... !!! Millions of Jews driven out of the arab countries, no mention and no attempt to docuemnt into the World Historical documentatnion. When our jewish refugees arrived instead of being put into CAMPS they were given homes and absorbed into Israel. Too bad we cared about our jewish people instead of using them for political pawns like the arabs have used the arab refugees.
7. Staying Alive
Zechariah   (05.16.14)
The Arab Refugee Hardship seen know with Syria Iraq has been cruel .But the Jews were Genocided.Islamic Lands take their Islamic Coreligious but the People of the Book their Cousins How many did they Rescue in WW2.Even Antisemitic USA was better taking in one hundred thousand plus far below the Capacity of the USA and with Tradgic consequences .With the 1937 Partition Plans There would have been no Refugees and many more Jews alive Contributing Creatively to International and Islamic WellBeing.
8. Financed by robbed EU taxpayers.
Tomi Weiss ,   Serbia   (05.16.14)
The Arabs who after 1948 took the name of European Greek Philistines, received more money in aid than entire Africa combined. The money went to terrorism. UNRWA, financed almost 70 years of terror in a time when over 1 000 000 Jews, genuine refugees where robbed out of property in all Arab countries and expelled without participating in any war.
9. Key point
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.16.14)
"Sattari's parents fled their home in what is now Israel in 1948." Key word: FLED Left. Voluntarily. They were not driven from their homes. They left. Voluntarily. I care not whether they left because their so-called "leadership" told them to leave and make way for the conquering Arab armies (which never materialized) and offered them the added incentive of the promise of first crack at the spoil -- the homes and possessions of the Jews that were going to be driven into the sea. That would give them a very unsavory motive indeed. Neither do I care if they left out of fear. Their choice; either way. But bad choices are not reversible. Voluntary quits are not "refugees." They are displaced persons, and have no right of return to homes and land that THEY LEFT VOLUNTARILY. That's just international law and cold, hard fact. I also respectfully point to all the Arabs who chose not to leave their homes and land despite the urging of their so-called "leadership" and despite the promise of first crack at stealing property which belonged to the Jews who were supposed to be pushed into the sea, but weren't. Let's give them credit for not being looters and scavengers. As to those who left -- well, as Thomas Mann so eloquently stated -- you cannot go home again. Sorry. Voluntary quits are legally deemed to have abandoned home and property. Their plaintive bleats that they were "frightened" do not hold water -- enough Arabs were not frightened, and they are citizens of Israel to this day, with all the rights and privileges of citizenship although not all of the obligations, such as real property taxes, municipal taxes and military service. The ones who left did so because of the promise of looting rights. Sorry to have disappointed these scavengers, but no one FORCED them to make their choices, and they were driven, quite frankly, by greed. I owe them nothing. Israel owes them nothing. They are reaping what they have sown. Too bad for them.

11. ARAB LEADERS KICKED OUT ARABS OF 'palestine'
TRUTH & HONESTY ,   TRUTH LAND   (05.16.14)
"The existence of these refugees is a direct result of the Arab States' opposition to the partition plan and the reconstitution of the State of Israel. The Arab states adopted this policy unanimously and the responsibility of its results, therefore is theirs; ..The flight of Arabs from the territory allotted by the UN for the Jewish state began immediately after the General Assembly decision at the end of November 1947. This wave of emigration, which lasted several weeks, comprised some thirty thousand people, chiefly well-to-do-families." - Emil Ghory, secretary of the Arab High Council, Lebanese daily Al-Telegraph, 6 Sept 1948 "The Arabs did not want to submit to a truce they rather preferred to abandon their homes, their belongings and everything they possessed in the world and leave the town. This is in fact what they did." - Jamal Husseini, Acting Chairman of the Palestine Arab Higher Committee, told to the United Nations Security Council, quoted in the UNSC Official Records (N. 62), April 23, 1948, p. 14 "The Arab exodus from the villages was not caused by the actual battle, but by the exaggerated description spread by Arab leaders to incite them to fight the Jews"- Yunes Ahmed Assad, refugee from the town of Deir Yassin, in Al Urdun, April 9, 1953 The Arab States encouraged the Palestine Arabs to leave their homes temporarily in order to be out of the way of the Arab invasion armies. - Falastin (Jordanian newspaper), February 19, 1949 "It must not be forgotten that the Arab Higher Committee encouraged the refugees' flight from their homes in Jaffa, Haifa, and Jerusalem." - Near East Arabic Broadcasting Station, Cyprus, April 3, 1949
12. Pt.2-ARAB LEADERS KICKED OUT ARABS OF 'palestine'
TRUTH & HONESTY   (05.16.14)
"The mass evacuation, prompted partly by fear, partly by order of Arab leaders, left the Arab quarter of Haifa a ghost city...By withdrawing Arab workers, their leaders hoped to paralyze Haifa.".- Time Magazine, May 3, 1948, p. 25 "Since 1948 it is we who demanded the return of refugees...while it is we who made them to leave. We brought disaster upon Arab refugees by inviting them & bringing pressure to bear upon them to leave. We have rendered them dispossessed. We have accustomed them to begging. We have participated in lowering their moral & social level. Then we exploited them in executing crimes of murder, arson, and throwing bombs upon men, women & children - all this in service of political purposes..." - Khaled al Azm, Syria's Prime Minister after the 1948 war "The refugees were confident that their absence would not last long & that they would return within a week or two. Their leaders had promised them that the Arab armies would crush the 'Zionist gangs' very quickly & that there was no need for panic or fear of a long exile."- Monsignor George Hakim, Greek Catholic Bishop of Galilee, in the Beirut newspaper Sada al Janub, August 16, 1948 "As early as the first months of 1948 the Arab League issued orders exhorting the [Arab Palestinian] people to seek a temporary refuge in neighboring countries, later to return to their abodes in the wake of the victorious Arab armies and obtain their share of abandoned Jewish property." - bulletin of The Research Group for European Migration Problems, 1957 "This wholesale exodus was due partly to the belief of the Arabs, encouraged by the boasting of an unrealistic Arab press & the irresponsible utterances of some of the Arab leaders that it could be only a matter of some weeks before the Jews were defeated by the armies of the Arab States and the Palestinian Arabs enabled to re-enter and retake possession of their territory."- Edward Atiyah (then Secretary of the Arab League Office in London) in The Arabs (London, 1955), p. 183 "The fact that there are these refugees is the direct consequence of the action of the Arab States in opposing Partition & the Jewish State. The Arab States agreed upon this policy unanimously & they must share in the solution of the problem, - Emil Ghoury, Secretary of the Arab Higher Committee, the official leadership of the Palestinian Arabs, in the Beirut newspaper, Daily Telegraph, September 6, 1948 "The Arab governments told us: Get out so that we can get in. So we got out, but they did not get in." - from the Jordan daily Ad Difaa, September 6, 1954 "The Arab civilians panicked and fled ignominiously. Villages were frequently abandoned before they were threatened by the progress of war."- General Glubb Pasha, in the London Daily Mail on August 12, 1948
13. Pt.2 Soviet KGB Created Arab 'palestinians'
Truth Teller Two ,   Azerbaijan   (05.16.14)
These are states that outnumber its population many fold with Muslims who are commanded by an extreme form of their religion to kill infidels to take back land formerly controlled by Muslims. It creates Jews, ignoring they are a small group, as oppressors of an even smaller discrete group of Arabs, described in the Charter as Palestinian Arabs excluding those in Jordan, Judea, Samaria and Gaza. (After the 1967 war, and the Isreali conquest of Judea, Samaria and Gaza, the exclusions for Arabs in those areas were removed the Charter). It transforms the Jews from victims to oppressors. The Arabs in Palestine had been engaged in religious jihad at least since 1929 when they massacred 69 Jews in Hebron, egged on by Haj Amin al Husseini, a member of the Muslim Brotherhood. He had imported the Brotherhood's vicious jihadist doctrines into Palestine from Egypt. Now, mirabile dictu, jihad became "liberation". The religiously motivated attacks on Jews were turned into "resistance" from oppression motivated by secular nationalism. This will explain to you why, whenever the Arabs attacked the Jews thereafter, they said they were "resisting".In his book, History Upside Down,[2] David Meir Levi puts it this way:"Arafat was particularly struck by Ho Chi Minh's success in mobilizing left-wing sympathizers in Europe and the United States, where activists on American campuses, enthusiastically following the [propaganda] line of North Vietnamese operatives, had succeeded in reframing the Vietnam war from a Communist assault on the south to a struggle for national liberation. Ho's chief strategist, General Giap, made it clear to Arafat and his lieutenants that in order to succeed, they too needed to redefine the terms of their struggle. Giap's counsel was simple but profound: the PLO needed to work in a way that concealed its real goals, permitted strategic deception, and gave the appearance of moderation: "Stop talking about annihilating Israel and instead turn your terror war into a struggle for human rights. Then you will have the American people eating out of your hand."

with all of their oil wealth the arabs only want Israel's destruction. but then... if you look at the last 2 days 10 more Saudis have died of MERS. and the toll will continue to climb because that arab wealth never was intended to do any good to their people.

Or, "The Forgotten Ally? Seems the pals/ illegal alien arabs, took to the radio before the Jews arrived and told their people that the Jews would rape their pal /illegal alien arabs women in hopes they'd fight.... The joke on them was that they FLED.. No stomach for fighting especially for something so low as a female a camel, perhaps pal females no...... Now, the pals want the stolen Jewish lands and homes they FLED from all those years ago. LOL When Muslim Pigs fly, booby. KEEP BUILDING!!!!!

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.16.14)
Where was the UNRWA? Why is the boy "malnourished?" Although I have to say, he is thin, but hardly malnourished. If you want to see what malnourished looks like, pay a visit to any of the non-"Palestinian" GENUINE refugee camps in Africa. People who fled the ceaseless fighting in the Congo, for example. Have a gander at a year-old baby who weighs nine pounds. THAT is malnourished. A baby who lies listless, belly swollen with kwashiorkor, unable to lift up his head. The baby depicted in this photo is NOT malnourished, and to suggest he is represents a vicious slap to the face of the tens of millions of genuine refugees who do not have a cottage industry created just for them by the United Nations. Those babies just get sick and die. Millions every year, in fact. The "Palestinian" so-called "refugees" just collect checks. Disgusting absence of proportion in this story. Why am I NOT surprised?

they seem to follow the terrorists more than the written words of your prophet.... What's up with that? Don't they know that the Jews could be their best friends instead of their worst enemies? Maybe you could organize your religious teachers to instruct your people more 'religiously' on the words your people claim to believe?? War has taken a toll on your people and ours and now, we witness Islam like a cancer, eating itself alive. Remember, there is one G-d and we discovered Him first. He seems to favor the Jews.. Thanks for taking the time and the courage to write what you did with your one name.. Shalom. One G-d over all. KEEP BUILDING ALL OF ISRAEL FOR ALL HER JEWS !!!!!

BUILD BABY BUILD !!!   (05.16.14)
after the fictitious pals are forced to leave Israel and, they will. As the pals terror increases so will the insistence that the pals leave Israel be made more clear to them. Of course, the obvious reason why the pals want Israel is.. Israel is the ONLY nation where all people live in peace, not so with Islam nations the Muslims murder one another 'religiously'. But, oh those price tags.. wait they'll get a lot worse as your pals have taught us...... your turn for the terror, pal. KEEP BUILDING !!!!!!

23. May I ask why ....
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.16.14)
... an aid agency deems photographs to be more important that using its funds to help the millions of REAL refugees from Syria? Let's see -- photographs .... food and clothing. How would YOU spend the money? The "Palestinians" have quite a racket going. Too bad real refugees have to go sick and hungry while they launch yet another iteration of their "poor, poor, pitiful me" whine. I echo the sentiments of other Talkbackers: where are the photographs of the one million Jews who were expelled from their homes in Arab and Moslem lands with little more than the clothes on their backs? Can I see that archive?
24. I can understand their sorrow
maddad ,   JHB   (05.16.14)
Their sorrow came about by a set of "bad choices" they made to eradicate Israel even before it came into existance. The choices they made backfired on them - leaving them at the mercy of their "brothers" who saw the potential to use them as political pawns and care nothing about their suffering. If I were them I would rent my clothing - wear sack-cloth and ashes and chant: "WTF HAVE I DONE TO MYSELF"
25. Catastrophe
Sagi   (05.16.14)
Yes indeed, it was and is a catastrophe, by any measure and standard in human terms. It is their catastrophe, they brought it upon themselves, they listened to fanatical leaders who used them as pawns instead of accepting the UN resolution and establishing their identity within the borders of the partition of 1948. These fanatical leaders not only caused the catastrophe, they perpetuated it and made it worse over the past 66 years. They got themselves into this situation and they are the ones who can alleviate it and correct it. My great grandparents were refugees, my grandparents, parents and myself were and are not "refugees" because we rolled up our sleeves and decided not to be so. The six million Jews who suffered a catastrophe are dead and gone, the Palestinians are alive and kicking. Roll up your sleeves, stop listening to your leaders and Imams and stop "celebrating" the catastrophe, look ahead, forward and not back, the past is gone, the future is important.

28. Enough already with this Nakba nonsense
tiki ,   belgium   (05.16.14)
In light of the millions of 'real refugees this artificial problem starts to look more & more like a storm in a teacup, only to be used as a political tool against Israel & Jews! This story becomes bigger & more dramatic by the year....without any reason. It's time to put an end to this sob story. The 600 000 Arabs from the British Mandate were not the only people who have suffered loss, (although they love to claim it). Sadly the suffering of the Jews during centuries of persecution, expulsion & murder tops everything and certainly the 'plight of the so called Palestinians. Enough with the fairy tale written by Arabs & their leaders and now followed by the West who see here another chance to get rid of the Jews & their country without getting dirty hands this time around.. It's time for Israel to call a spade a spade instead of dancing to Arab music with western vocalists.
29. Who knows their real choice?
Raphael ,   Netanya   (05.16.14)
The refugee status defined by UNHCR 1951 Convention clearly states that only people death, torture or prison threats deserve international protection, granted individually , families being entitled after agreement of UN officials. The only refugees in the world who inherit the status are the Palestinians, whose life was never threatened by Israel (otherwise, how to explain that 20% of Israeli population are Arabs). Another discrimination hurts the women: the status is inherited only by males (where are the feminists?), therefore intermarriage is the rule so as to keep the benefits within the family (resulting in congenital anomalies). The Palestinian refugees developed a sophisticated welfare recipient system funded by western freiers, including food distribution, free health care, free education, tax exemption, that reaches 50% of the Palestinian GDP. So, if they ever apply their “right of return” (which was never granted to any other human group, and surely not the Jews), will they give up this bonanza? Will the UNRWA and PA bureaucrats leave their air conditioned offices to toil under the blazing sun? Or do they simply intend to exploit the natural resources of Israel, which are limited to the (jewish) brains? I rather believe that most basic refugees dream of starting a kebab booth in Montreal or Malmö.
