Nothing new here. The US would like Israel to hand Palestinians a state because it wants to appease Arabs and other Muslims. So, it frightens Israel by talking about a bi-national state or apartheid state or whatever but it is not going to impose a Palestinian state. Besides, the US also supports a Jewish state which Palestinians reject. Israel controls the territory not the US or UN and there will be no Palestinian state without going through Israel and its approval. What Palestinians may have is a make believe state on paper with no real territory.
