Per Wiesel's book, an escapee from a death camp told the people of Sziget about what would happen to them but they laughed him off and called him a liar. Are we any more clever today? I think the answer is obvious: we are jailing good Jews and releasing Arab killers so the answer is: no, we as a nation are as stupid as the day is long, in terms of emotional intelligence, ie, knowing who one's friends vis-a-vis enemies are.
