Including the pope of Damascus/Antioch, Alexandria etc. why do we only hear about one particular pope, the western one?
2. Chancellor Merkel
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.06.14)
Was she invited? Germany has not been invited in the past. Or is its tight control over the EU simply too much to ignore?
3. 'Nazi barbarism'. .well what about christianity's complicity
Moshe ,   Usa   (06.05.14)
with nazi murder of Jews in the Holocaust. Did christianuty announce that the destruction of Jewish communities of euripe was sinful & not to do it? No they didn't. My great uncle lined up at the vaticun wall next to the river to be taken on the train to auschwitz. Did the pope say or do anything against the nutsies then? No ! Maybe he was molesting young boys at the time?
4. It is amazing how some of the worlds brilliant leaders
Jerome ,   Basalt, Colorado   (06.06.14)
state the obvious! Why doesn't this pope talk about Islamic barbarism and hateful ideology from the Koran?
5. condem instead the church's Nazi support
Larry ,   LA (formerly)   (06.06.14)
It would be better if the pope were to condemn the endorsement that the Church gave the Nazis and Hitler. According to historical documentation the Church was against the Communists; fearing the eradication of religion in Russia, so it supported Hitler knowing full well his agenda. This is a ugly blemish on the Church, just another one in a long history of Jew baiting and seeking its own self-interests at the expense of others (read: Jews).
