And where the UAV crashes it explodes? I hope there are no malfunctions and the UAV crashes on a street or somewhere in Israel.

for thousands of dollars LESS. This is just another "gold plated" Israeli war toy. When IAI can produce a better weapon for less than US$300, then it will merit a news story. This clearly illustrates what is wrong with Israelis military planning. Israel wastes huge amounts of wealth making "elegant" weapons while its opponents make thousands of reasonably accurate but very inexpensive weapons. In the end the weapons are just going to be destroyed, so why waste the time and money to make them "elegant?" Israel will run out of stones to throw long before its opponents do.
4. IT'S JUST TOO BAD THAT THE WORLD FORCED ISRAEL INTO THIS
stude ham   (06.10.14)
but it is better that Israel can do this for itself than be denied the defensive armaments it so badly needs.

The advanced weapons are solely for reducing collateral damage. Whereas the Arabs launch thousands of rockets to terrorize and destroy civilians, Israel launches single missiles to destroy military targets. Israel wastes money as you say, makes war unpainful for the Arabs, and at the end still gets falsely accused of war crimes while the Arabs are crowned as heroes. Israel should adopt Arab war tactics like we see in Syria and Iraq (without the rape and mutilation), where collateral damage is so high that civilians flee when they can. The war would end soon enough

After a rocket from Gaza is fired into Israel, send one of those straight back to them - without warning the terrorists to leave the area, of course. You wouldn't need more than 1 or 2 for those deadly rockets to stop once and for all and best of all you wouldn't need armored trucks or soldiers to go in there and risk their lives.
7. #5 - you misssed the points

In reality, these UAV are not much more accurate than a Qassam 4. Note that they are launch and forget which means that once they are launched, they are no better than a Qassam 4. The reality is Israel (along with the US) has been sucked down the weapons technology black hole of high cost and marginal improvement. IAI is mostly a jobs program for Israelis and a way for a few too get fabulously wealthy, rather than actually providing any real security. No matter how brutal Israel is in war, the determining factor in wars is having enough cannon fodder to get killed, having enough stuff to be destroyed and enough wealth to waste. In the grand scheme of things, Israel has none of that. As the wars in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan have proven decisively, technology is NOT a determining factor in wars these days when everyone has the same technology.

How can you even compare a weapon that can trace and destroy practically anything, even if a moving target, to something that counts on luck to hit its target?

That's today's entertainment, have a cold beer and watch a $300 arab missle fall on their heads 80% of the time, great thinking and these are your HEROES.

Hey DUMB DUMB it's built in Israel not in gaza by dumb arabs. You better start digging cause you'll need a deep hole to crawl into the next time hizballah starts a fight.

If we do that, then whats the difference between then and us ? We are not criminals, it is our duty to do the best we can in order to avoid collateral damages. If they don't care is their problem. But I would like to think that we are better than that.
16. #3 Qassam is NOT accurate
Ovadiah ben Avraham ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (06.10.14)
Qassam is an artillery rocket, and a home brew at that. It is wildly inaccurate. It is solely an area weapon: you fire salvos and hope to force dispersal of ground troops, or in the case of Pals you hope to terrorize cities. Harop is a precision-guided AI-autonomous weapon, a battle-field robot. It's mission is to seek-and-destroy extremely high-value enemy assets, in particular air-defense missile batteries. With its loiter time it suppresses enemy air defense systems who are afraid to turn on their radars while Israel flies strike missions in, say, Lebanon or Syria.
