1. Already there are too many dead monuments to dead Jews while
tom ,   tel aviv   (06.19.14)
there are too many living antisemites/ Islamofascists in Europe, hating the living Jews . Next in line is USA: slowly metamorphosing into a third world country, raising monuments left & right, while the ugly specter of Jew-hate has begun it's awakening.
2. Halting the memory of the vile Dutch role in WW2.
tiki ,   belgium   (06.19.14)
How? By stopping a memorial that will remind them of that fact every day!
3. Overkill
Cameron ,   USA   (06.19.14)
There is already a monument of some size in place. The residents want the issue pushed no further.
4. don't build it
(06.19.14)
It is beautiful park less than 5 minutes walk from the Portuguese Synagogue that serves as a perfectly good memorial. Don't ruin the park.
5. More Shoah BS Shoved Down The Throats ...
World Citizen ,   the world   (06.19.14)
Of People Not Even Born During WW2. Like the article says they already have one monument in the park. Let the children have a place to play. Put this grandstanding tombstone in a Jewish cemetery where it belongs.
6. do something for living jews
jew ,   europe   (06.19.14)
build new chabad center there instead a holocoust memorilal
7. It enough already

Holocaust Memorials that take over public space like this does no honour to those who perished. There are enough memorials - it should not be shoved in everyone's face. This idea will backfire. This is kind of thing that starts get people to dislike the Jews. Memorials in Israel are done with respect and are not in the public face or public parks that take enjoyment away from the living. Europe does not anymore memorials. It won't bring back the dead.

Native folks everywhere are fed up with those black hatted strangers and their chabad centers too ,...
9. Simple answer to avoid offending Dutch anti-Jewish bigotry -
Dr. L. Brnd ,   San Diego, USA   (06.19.14)
To make more acceptable to the locals the Holocaust memorial in the park, which is located in a former Jewish neighborhood ethnically cleansed by the Nazis and their Dutch collaborators - there is a simple and just answer. Don't relocate the memorial, Rather, boot out and relocate elsewhere the non-Jewish squatters who seized the former Jewish neighborhood, and return the entire neighborhood to the Jews, who will certainly have no objection to a Holocaust memorial in 13% of the Wertheim Park, which Dutch Jews build with Jewish funds, and which the wartime Dutch seized and took over as "their" park. That would be a fitting memorial to not only the Holocaust but also to Dutch collaboration with Nazism, Dutch refusal to return all Holocaust victims property, and 5 centuries of vicious Dutch anti-semitism. Or is it only the Israelis who the Dutch think should end "occupation"?
10. #7:Oh dear just ask Split, it's not the monuments that do it

Tova ,   Canada   (06.20.14)
Did you really understand the message. Holocaust Memorials do not belong in public places. Memorials in Israel are done with respect - where all people can visit and learn. Anykind of memorial in public place do not give anyone the understanding or even care. Infact public memorials take away life. The VietNam memorial in Washington is done with respect. People know why they are there. In the Bible GOD tells the People to make a memorial so that all can learn - A memorial is a place of respect. A public park is a place for people to enjoy. There is a big difference.

No one invited you there or you invaded them even if tolerated you're still a bunch of arrogant, unruly squatters on foreign soil and as such don't own anything - There's no accident that you got your ass kicked out from 109 countries an places since 250 AD it's because of idiots like you trying to dictate what the natives should do or think ,... What the hell makes you believe that anyone owns you anything? ,...

semites like Split, World citizen, Benassi &Co it won't matter much, if we do it openly, "discreetly" or don't put any monuments at all. They have that faulty gene and it's a dominant one I'm afraid. If you want to please them/not be of annoyance, all you have to do is...to DIE! That's the plain truth and it applies to Islam as well. ALL OF ISLAM: there's no "moderate" one in case you wonder....

By the way, pinhead, how do your homies in Israel call those uninvited strangers from Africa and other places? They coined a special term for them an "infiltrators". How are those "infiltrators" are treated there? Well those that got caught rot in camps surrounded with watchtowers and razor wire. Can they buy any property in Israel? Nope! What do they own there? They own nothing, zero, zilch, that said, so what the hell makes you believe that your infiltrators should be treated differently or anyone, anywhere owns you anything? ,...
