You don't understand the Israeli courts. Lupolianski is Haredi. He should be thankful, f he had been healthy he'd receive 15 years. Olmert is an Ashkenazi Leftist who gave Shimon the presidency. Under those conditions, 6 years is extremely harsh and disproportionate. Expect him to be pardoned or released under extenuating circumstance in 1 year.
3. I totally agree with Rick Glushakow

The judge is out of his mind to give them both the same sentence. It is the judge who fails to differentiate between the two that undermines public confidence in the justice system!
4. Good he deserves a long sentence

If Lupolianski gets 6 years, then Olmert should of gotten 60.
8. The difference between Olmert and Lupolianski:
Chaim ,   Israel   (06.19.14)
while greedy Olmert took all the bribes from himself, righteous Lupolianski gave everything away for tzeddakah to Yad Eliezer. What an honorable man! May G-d bless him and heal him. However, the Zionists so-called "judges" (who take bribes themselves but are not indicted for obvious reasons) are too corrupt and immoral to understand and see the difference and gives them both the same sentence, even though Lupolianski is already suffering his own illness. To the Zionists "judges" one can easily relate the famous saying of our Sages: One who's merciful to the cruel, is cruel to the merciful. What a perfect saying for this case. These are the same "judges" who release terrorists with blood on their hands. The Zionists at their best!

Seeing that they have the same sentence it would be even more equal that Olmert should pass on his takings to charity/charities (or should the charity that has benefited refund their donated money to the state?)
11. Uri was a fool.

Taking a bribe and handing to a charity is still taking a bribe. He had no justification for what he did other than unethical foolishness. Did he think he was a Tzadik? Far from it. We are consistently failing to elect officials who are honest, have integrity and moral.

If you don't understand why Olmert needs a harsher punishment than Lupolianski, something is wrong with you. Olmert led the gang and he used the money to buy cigars. Lupolianski has cancer and he gave the money that helped thousands of people he should go to jail. Before sentencing the judge said he would give a relatively light sentence, but then changed his mind. If for every year that Lupolianski got, Olmert got two, no one would complain.
