1. PLAYING BOTH SIDES OF THE FENCE
MR CYNIC ,   SAFED CYNIC HOUSE   (06.29.14)
The good Rabbi Piron should make his mind up and truly decide whether he supports homosexual partnerships ,or not. He can not please all of the people and he tries to be parve. One would have more respect for the Rabbi if he had the courage of his convictions.
2. If this guy is a rabbi my cat is one too.
Sick "rabbi"   (06.29.14)
3. We don't need more liberal MKs, but sensible ones
Naomi   (06.29.14)
So Piron, please do not try to conform or compromise your faith. The homosexuals and Lapid can choose what lifestyle they want. But they have no right to dictate how the national values should be and influence our children with distorted family values.
4. #2 well said
Chaim ,   Israel   (06.29.14)
A rabbi that goes against the Torah in order to please others because his "heart breaks" is no rabbi. A rabbi should do what is right in the eyes of G-d and not in his own understanding. If he doesn't care that G-d abhors immorality from Jews as well as non-Jews, he has no right being a 'rabbi' or calling himself with this title.
5. @2 sorry, it requires opposable thumb to hold a book...
Miron ,   USA   (06.29.14)
Such features do not "grow" by itself on a pile of mud, moving in the direction of political wind.
6. @1 no, he is consistent.
Miron ,   USA   (06.29.14)
He supports fellow gay citizens, when it comes to material support and protection of their rights, on merits. But he does not offer them absolution from tenets of Torah. Nor makes any excuses for his beliefs. You need to learn from this ravvin instead of throwing around poor words.
7. And I'd vote for them again!
Moshino ,   Tel Aviv   (06.29.14)
Even though I was really not sure when I voted for Yesh Atid, now I'm confident I made the right choice: sense, sensibility AND sensitivity. Amen! Amen! Amen!
8. Not A Family: An Abomination
Yishai Kohen ,   YeShA, Israel   (06.29.14)
He needs to stick to his guns here and not backtrack on the truth
9. I dont know why peoples sexual orientation should be anyones
Al   (06.29.14)
concern in the least. In effect what you do in your bedroom save for cruelty should be no ones business. What I object to is when people who practise whatever kind of sexual perversion demand that their freakiness should be made public for their 'societal acceptance'. No one ever asked what your sexual preferences are nor do they care?. Why does the Homosexual and Lesbian communities consistently insist that their sexual preference be know for their 'societal acceptance' ? Can it be, because they never truly accepted their own sexual orientation? If that is the case, then they are really tiny little children who are looking or that..'you're a good little boy..Yankele' compliment. So here you have it. 'You're a good little boy Yankele ..now go and play with yourself and leave us the F alone.'
10. Meeting a one-wish-only Fairy:what would a gay man want?

11. #9 acceptance...
Moshino ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (06.29.14)
Dear Al, It's not about shoving sexuality down anyone's throat. As a heterosexual male, you just don't perceive that as a matter of fact EVERYONE has to put up with heteroSEXUALITY. HeteroSEXUALITY is everywhere: TV commercials, magazines, billboards. And everything is extremely sexual and usually quite demeaning of women for that matter. How about when gay people go to dinner parties and/or family reunions and they're not asked how they are doing or what they do, but if they're married and/or looking (of course the assumption is for someone of the opposite gender). So, whereas the idea of everyone living happily ever after without knowing what other people do in bed is awesome. It's also unrealistic. Because as a matter of fact everyone assumes what you do in bed from the moment you're born. Now isn't THAT a sick society? Judging people by sex and not by morals or education....

You sum up very well the almost constant desire of homosexual people to keep reminding everybody of their orientation. If homosexual men and women wish to indulge in their own sexual pleasures, they do not need to keep reminding the public in general as to how 'proud' they are that they are homosexual. Equally if homosexuals wish to indulge in their own sexual activities, do it privately. Without unnatural intervention it is totally impossible for two men together, or two women together to produce another life no matter how proud they are. Shai Piron is 100% correct. Homosexual liaisons are NOT a family. Homosexual couples can be the kindest, most thoughtful, law abiding people in the whole world, but it does not make them a family. If homosexuality is so wonderful, why do members of the community around the world have to have parades to demonstrate this way of life? As for Shai Piron, he is an outstanding, experienced educator, highly intelligent and with a deep understanding of people and family values. Also call a spade a spade - that is to say talk about the 'homosexual' community, not the 'gay' community. Stop using abbreviations such as 'LGBT'. Call it lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender - it doesn't sound so good - which it's not.
13. Retarded religious opinions should stay hidden.
Michael ,   California, USA   (06.29.14)
If he acts the way he says, it is all that matters. Personal opinions on religious affairs have no meaning. These belong in personal closets and in hidden dungeons.
14. @13 I don't think so. Ravvin is right. And you are sad.
Miron ,   USA   (06.29.14)
There is no shame in being a gay. I don't know about every single gay man, but what I did see, how man turned to gay was either result of repeated rape in a very gentle age, in school, kindergartens, under direct cover up of adults, who have one and only measure whether to cover and allow wanton sexual torture, or not, a threat of heavy physical punishment from the family to which the child belongs. It's an unfortunate reality, but it is what it is. And these gay boys do need to hear this ravvin. Because now that they are adults they have at least some way to take their sex lives in own hands. It's hard, by now they have to struggle with decades of physical reflexes, that are extremely difficult to mend. That's how 90% of boys, at least today, become gay. Let me give you an example of what it means, to beat own physical reflexes in real life. In reconnaissance schools some people go through rapid language learning course. To beat reflexes of jaw muscles ( what we commonly call "accent" ) those schools, to date, use electric current attached to the head of the student. If you care for gay people as much as you say you do, try it once, see what this ravvin is talking about. The trouble is that gay community is being used for political ends meet. So, there is no way how this issue can any longer stay in personal closets or hidden dungeons.
15. @8 that's what YNet is here for. To make it look
Miron ,   USA   (06.30.14)
like Jewish people hate gay. That's what they pay grade is for. To turn our world in slaughterhouse. I don't think it would be unreasonable to institute civic process of holding publishers accountable. To word, for example, an epithet used in the post #8 is derogatory and is incitement, and by rules of the publication should not be allowed.
