1. Re: Gene Mich (facebook commenter)
David   (07.08.14)
I'm writing in response to Gene Mich, who was responding to a comment from Riyadh. You clearly didn't bother to translate the remarks to which you responded. This is utterly stupid-- you had no idea what the talkbacker was saying, which was actually a message of friendship. I believe it to be true that there is a real climate of hatred in the Arab world. But those courageous people who are not among the haters should not count us as among their enemies.
2. Bibi is a coward and should immediately be replaced.
(07.08.14)
He cannot be a leader against Arabs if he follows orders from one who doesn't understand Arab mentality.
3. Israeli Courts, Israeli Politicians
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (07.08.14)
Israeli courts are harsher on Jews than Arabs. Israeli politicians are harsher on Jews than Arabs. They have to show that we are more moral and sensitive then everyone else so they bend over backwards to appease the Goyim.
4. right and wrong
David   (07.08.14)
There is nothing wrong, and everything right, with Netanyahu's expression of condolence to the murdered teen. Any implication that this is weakness is utterly insulting to the very essence of Judaism and our national spirit. There is however, a weakness in the way the prime minister has responded to the terrorist aggression-- the consecutive 5+ hour cabinet deliberations, the bombings of empty buildings, the calls for "restraint," and on and on. It appears that he is changing strategy, and there is no question that there are many considerations behind his initial adoption of such a flawed and deeply unsatisfactory posture. But any critics of him should be clear-- and not unwittingly adopt the moral equivocation and confusion of the left-- fierce retaliation against Hamas is our irrevocable right and obligation. It is not murder, it is not wrong, and it is our right to demand it.
5. #3 history repeats itself
(07.08.14)
Nothing has changed. In the First Temple Period, in the Second Temple Period, in the ghettos of Europe, in the shadow of the Third Reich: the corrupt Jewish leaders were loyal to their paymasters and saw the simple Jewish people as the real enemy.
6. what if King Hussein had just called the families...

who's daughters were murdered by his soldier at Mahanaim? Would that have been acceptable behavior? ABSOLUTELY NOT! Mr. Netanyahu get off the phone get real go pay an actual Shiva (condolence) Call!
7. Well done Bibi!
Andi ,   Israel   (07.08.14)
I have to hand it to Bibi. He's behaved like a true democratic leader this last week. Phoning the son's father was appropriate behavior and goes even beyond what would happen in most Western democratic countries. It shows the right humility and contrition, and is most definitely not a sign of weakness. Also the measured but growing response to Gaza terror was dead right, not shooting from the hip but considering all aspects including regional influences, the dangerous prospect of attention being drawn towards us from the various warring factions as a distraction etc etc.
