1. Not dealing with Hamas now will cost much more.
Ben S ,   Free world   (07.09.14)
2. ...as opposed to the cost of....
Gideon Reader   (07.09.14)
...NOT acting against HAMAS; which could cost the life, soul and existance of the nation. As the old commercial used to say,... PRICELESS.
3. Cost of Gaza military operations
Sheldon Botoshansky ,   New York, USA   (07.09.14)
Why not just choose the American plan of suing Hamas, or the PA which has created a unity government? Making Hamas part of the PA makes it responsible for all expenses incurred. Use the PA tax money for the war!
4. Reimbursement of costs
fred douglas ,   har halutz   (07.09.14)
Why not deduct these costs from the money we hold for the PA? For example, deduct from these funds all the costs of the Iron Dome rockets that we need to fire to prevent their rockets from hitting our civilians. fred douglas
5. It will cost much less if...
Tomi Weiss ,   Israel/Serbia   (07.09.14)
The ground invasion of Gaza is carried out as soon as possible. However if Gaza is not invaded and cleansed the economic damage will be devastating and will repeat every 20 months. However, if invasion starts: 1) No more casualties inside Israel 2) Economic life in Israel to continue normally 3) No more damage to infrastructure 4) No more damage to tourism 5) No more ability of Gaza Hamas to repeat this scenario, every year. 6) Huge deterrence toward Hezbollah, Syria etc 7) As in the case of Defensive Shield, no significant Israeli casualties are expected, if IDF will properly clean all areas to be liberated,
6. ISRAEL MUST SUE GAZA FOR EACH ROCKET'S COST TO ISRAEL!
Dav Zee ,   AMERICA THEBEAUTIFUL   (07.09.14)
CHARGE OR PLACE A FEE ON EACH EXPLOSIVE SHOT INTO ISRAEL, THEN cut off all services to gaza, till paid...no pay, no light, ffod, heat or fuel... you don't want to pay? stop shooting! or enjoy the darkness, cold and hunger.
7. Yes the cost is high and will only get higher - by waiting
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (07.09.14)
Of course this is exactly what the pals want. Now they are firing rockets all over the country and its only a matter of time before a major catastrophe occurs. Even armchair generals get it right sometimes. There is no good option. But waiting while they get stronger and cause more and more havoc and eventually deaths - is not wise. Its a shocking situation.
8. If I ran the show
Arnold ,   Montreal-Canada   (07.09.14)
I'd fire back mortar for mortar. Missile for missile. Wherever the mortar lands or the missile lands is up to the forces of nature. I guarantee the costs will go down drastically and the savings on jet fuel immense.
9. Stop counting the cost
Brod ,   UsA   (07.09.14)
If Israel does not stamp out HAMAS for good, it would be a mega Holocaust on Israel. If tiny Gaza has the audacity and tenacity to attack Israel, what message does it convey to bigger Islamist-Jihadist states in the region whose goal is to wipe out Israel?
10. It will be a waste if it is not done to 100% destroy Hamas
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (07.09.14)
11. This operation should be billed to Hamas
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.09.14)
stop their electricity until they pay this and 1.5 billion they owe.
12. No wonder so many yordim from Israel.
(07.10.14)
Normal people have enough of paying the bill. Look at the education, the health, the roads (so many being killed)... Israel is a third world country
13. Saving money
regina ,   hatzor, israel   (07.11.14)
The budget is solution is easy and obvious.. send all the reservists home.. and keep on plane.. put a big bomb.. on that plane.. i thin they block busters.. fly over Gaza and return the whole area instantly back into farmland.. and them return our people to there to continue farming.. ' just think. no more budget problems and the new farming area will produce revenue for the state and the farmers.. and just think no more missiles . and peace along the border.. save money, save face and save the boshar that the inaction by the government is creating..
