1. truce?
Joan Bernstein ,   Long Island, USA   (07.15.14)
No. Let Israel finish it now or it will never be over. Each time, the terrorists come back stronger than ever, and Israel has to hit them harder. All this does is escalate the entire situation. The time for compromise is long gone.
2. Ceasefire NOT YET!
USA   (07.15.14)
Kill more HAMAS leaders, destroy more of the HAMAS connected buildings. The new pradigm to terror leaaders is: terrorize Israel and you lose EVERYTHING including your life!
3. Ntnyhu is a political slut , only interested
Iknowzall ,   Harhabayis   (07.15.14)
in playing the PM not interested in ideology. Communist Socialist Zionism is long dead except for the racketeering bureaucracy that demands one working person to feed 175 jobnik parasites in every initiative. Bribery, fraud and satanism is the empty shell of Zionism. The Arabs are the cockroaches munching away the lifeless husk. Revolution and embracing spiritual guidance from the Torah is inevitable, the only question is how long and how many will be killed first.
4. Ceasefire : until next 3 boys are killed again
David ,   Finland   (07.15.14)
5. How come Gaza technocrats allowed this war to break out
Alan ,   SA   (07.15.14)
Whatever happened to those "technocrats" that Obama was telling us about. Why did they allow such a war to break out
6. If Netanyahu goes through with this farce...
Jake Stone ,   USA   (07.15.14)
...he's a traitorous coward--period! All this will do is weaken Israel...and, strengthen the Arabs' hand in this tit-for-tat fiasco. I feel so sorry for Israel for having weak leaders who are afraid of their own shadows: BOO! watch them jump!!!
7. Long Truce Long Term Aim
Zechariah   (07.15.14)
With the Huge Differences and Bitter History This Seems The Better Result.Small Area Huge Emotions A lot of Destructiveness.Need a Break.
8. If true:never have I felt so ashamed of my country(and there
tom ,   tel aviv   (07.15.14)
were countless occasions!) as now. They will (again) try to sell us this spineless capitulation as an achievement of our superior psyche & political wisdom, but deep inside we shall know the truth.. :-(
9. Beat Booboo to death with a shovel
Ben   (07.15.14)
This is the only language he understands
10. who wants a ceasefire
jim   (07.15.14)
look at those who want a ceasefire-lapid never served in combat, livni(likewise), peres(no military service), gal on (no miiltary service), yechaimovtich(no combat, german(no combat), peri(overrated useless shin bet like diskin) topped off by bibi who is as gutless as olmert- alcomplete coward. Oh ya, egypt and john kerry are going to do israel's work for it undoing all the missiles-bullshit. Bibi makes israel weak while hamas comes off as strong. Yaalon knows what to do but is held back by bibi who is a weakling. Raised and given everthing, he is not his own man and is unable to tell anyone no. I am disgusted by him, israel should ignore calls for ceasefire, conduct raids and than a massive blitz of gaza keep the press out.
11. Tsk, tsk
J ,   Tel Aviv   (07.15.14)
More settler rhetoric
12. WILL THAT STOP THE ROCKET BARRAGES?
stude ham   (07.15.14)
never! hamas is too busy creating new terrorist cells whose connections will be denied... sort of like the thing seen in mission impossible... which this is already.
13. No cease fire
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.15.14)
Break Hamas; make them bleed. Then, and only then, can a cease fire be considered. Hamas only wants it in order to regroup. Let's not fall for their pious and thoroughly artificial bleats. The only trustworthy member of Hamas is a dead one. Keep that in mind, and continue dismantling that scurrilous bunch. Any civilian deaths accrue exclusively to Hamas, and they can -- and should -- be brought to account before a war crimes tribunal. Harden your hearts, Israel. Because those pious bleats are right around the corner. With the same (predictable) results as the past two times. Make them bleed. Death and destruction is lingua franca for the "palestinians." It is, unfortunately, the only language they understand and it is therefore the only language we can speak that has an effect. The responsibility for all civilian deaths in Gaza accrues exclusively to Hamas. Do not forget that.
14. Ceasefire conditions
Maurice ,   Montreal   (07.15.14)
Any ceasefire must remove all rocket related infrastructure and all tunnels permanently just as all chemical weapons were removed from Syria. Otherwise the next round will be just around the corner. I hope Bibi will not accept a ceasefire without this condition.
15. Hamas wins again
ramallah   (07.15.14)
what a story was . the losers are the dead and injured people
16. next round assured
michel ,   Ashkelon   (07.15.14)
We just assured the next round of bombardement of our cities.Once again !
17. Only if the Hamas leadership is arrested.
David ,   Hartford USA   (07.15.14)
No ceasefire unless the Hamas leadership is arrested. They instigated the rocket fire and never stopped it. They are fully to blame and must be charged with crimes against humanity. Either make a ceasefire with new people or complete the job of wiping out Hamas in Gaza.
18. Any cease fire ought to include a total decommissioning of
N.L.Katz ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (07.15.14)
all left-over illicit weapons in Gaza and a strict demilitarization of the territory. This is not only a practical requirement; it is also anchored in the Oslo I and Oslo II agreements between the State of Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) - which was also witnessed by the UN, US, European and Arab countries - on the basis of which the territory was handed over to the PLO.
19. Ceasefire
Doc ,   South Africa   (07.15.14)
The same again... Israel never finishes the job... The other side doesn't fear .. Therefore nothing gained... Waste of time... As usual the demented hopeless people of gaza will scream victory ... and by gaining false sense of confidence will rearm for a bigger problem next time. Unfortunately what the gaza leadership need is a national humiliation .. So that defeat is impossible to deny... That will be the only thing to result in peace. Israel leadership is pathetic... The left wins again ...
20. Arab Cease Fire = Rearming Before Resuming Attacks
emanon ,   USA   (07.15.14)
21. The whole Gaza doesn't worth life of even a soldier
Asher ,   New York USA   (07.15.14)
22. A win , but What was gained!!!!
Robert ,   farmington   (07.15.14)
Israel won no doubt, but what was really gained if the cease fire comes to past. just a waste of time and money, if the truth be known Bibi needs to resign or step-down and let a stronger arm come in. Israel needs to learn to finish wars.
23. If Netanyahu does this: he's done!
Eli Bodie ,   USA   (07.15.14)
24. cease fire
attal ,   France Paris   (07.15.14)
Because the lives of soldiers committed and the risk of abduction are important, personally, I would approve the ceasefire if it is accompanied by a process of demilitarization of the Gaza Strip by an international force.
25. summary
(07.15.14)
Hamas is isolated in Gaza and complain daily of an "inhuman blockade" that makes their life impossible, yet they can amass a massive sophisticated arsenal to attack Israel when and where they want to. Despite her military superiority, Israel is never allowed to win. The battle is not between Israel and Hamas. The battle is between Israel and Hamas arms supplies (Egypt and the Left) and people who impose ceasefires to protect Hamas from defeat.
26. Hamas won nothing but the whining gallery is out in force
CJK   (07.15.14)
netanyahu and his ingenuity have won the day. one cannot claim that he has won the entire war. many more battles will be fought before the war is won.
27. Head of unity Government. You will be toppled
Roland ,   london England   (07.15.14)
Hamas will turn on you.If I were you,I'd have eyes at the back of my head !Many knives must be out to get you .Should I say You,representing Fateh have become the worthless'Paper Camel' of the Middle East?
28. Forget about ceasefire
Brod ,   USA   (07.15.14)
Ceasefire is surrender. Ceasefire is weakness in the face of external aggressions. Ceasefire is throwing Israel under the bus to be rolled over by another incoming bus repeatedly. Ceasefire is failure to defend the Nation of Israel and the Land of Israel. Ceasefire is a betrayal to the Children of Israel. Ceasefire is erosion of deterrence.
29. Cease Fire
Steve Gure ,   Coconut Creek Usa   (07.15.14)
For Israel to accept the cese fire at this time is the same as a defeat. I can not believe that the Israeli leadership accepted it. Israelis have to come to their senses and replace this leadership. Otherwise all is lost.
30. # 13 Sarah I have a question
BUILD BABY BUILD!!!!   (07.16.14)
I read that America is aiding Hamas by funding them going contrary and against US law. Is any one doing anything to stop this illegal practice and help eliminate Hamas by cutting off their US money supply? Some one must be held accountable. Thanks you, Shalom
