I posted these numbers to another article but it seems appropriate here as well--if were talking about proportion then these numbers are ones people should become more familiar with: 14 people were shot dead in various incidents in Chicago over 4th of July weekend alone and over 80 shot that weekend in total. This is extreme but not unusual for many American cities. Over 10,000 Americans die every year in street violence which is really just an informal combat. That's 4x the amount that died in Afghanistan and much more than will die for either side in this conflict in Gaza. This is EVERY year. I love America--it's a great country in many, many ways--but Israelis should be made aware of the hypocrisies that are leveled at them. The depravations of Europe in the realm of violence is beyond the scope of this talkback--but they are kidding themselves if they think they have any moral authority or even substance at all.
