the ban, thus placing pressure on Israel to accept a premature ceasefire and at the same time seeing to it that the Islamists received a present from the US by managing to close the only airport into Israel. The only question that remains is: Did the Appeaser-in-Chief of Islamism did so based on naivete or rather ill intent...??

You have found israels achilies heel, maximise your efforts to damage their air industry
3. avoid delta
Barbara Brubaked ,   USA   (07.24.14)
Let everyone bypass delta airlines. Avoid giving them business because of their hatred of Israel. Tit for tat for that pacifist bunch!
4. FAA lifted its ban

UN EU US must tell Hamas if you are aiming at Israel air ports you are aiming at our citizens and you will have to deal with us and if it happens nations should act in the strongest way and not just let Israel deal with it by banning flights they are giving Hamas green light to do it in the future and others to the same in other countries
5. Insurance companies have more clout than FAA
spyguy ,   Seattle USA   (07.24.14)
If the Insurance companies decide the risks are too high, it will not matter what the FAA says. A B747 costs more than US$250 million and there is a multi-year waiting list. No airline wants to take that risk for a few thousand dollars of profit. In the end, this will be a business decision by the carriers, who just may decide Israel is not worth it when there are better uses for their resources. In other words the risk is vastly higher than the reward.
6. # 1 Obama did so based on both naivete and ill intent

toward the oldest, oldest and most loyal ally of the US in the region, the State of Israel. This was the latest case of Mr. Obama pushing Israel "under the bus".

Take yourself and your holy war back to Gaza, and help your brethern. The Hebrews are G-d's Chosen People; Islam is the "achilles heel" of the civilized world.

I will make every effort to use one of these airlines for my next trip.
9. #5 excellent observation
(07.24.14)
What you said would be an excellent observation, if it matched the facts. Sadly, reality is different. The FAA did not prevent US carriers from flying over Ukraine (where a passenger jet was shot down), or Afghanistan and Pakistan where there is far greater danger than in Israel. If the FAA prevented US flights to these countries, we could understand the ban on Israel. Since only Israel was blockaded, it was clearly under the orders of the Obama regime which has a record of supporting Islamists against Syria, Egypt, Russia, Kurdistan and now Israel.
