Without additional reserves called up, additional casualties and additional resources the ground op can't go forward. Better to keep hitting hamas from the air now that the tunnels can be neutralized. It is cheaper, very destructive for hamas and keeps Israeli casualties down. Let hamas claim a great victory, they always do. No need for Israel to make this a fair fight.

Set up checkpoints, find all the weapons, find the underground hideouts of the Hamas leaders, arrest them.

The U.S. has satellite technology which has identified the location of the tunnels that are not directly under building. They can see where the tunnels going out of Gaza into Israel are located. If the U.S. can be persuaded to hand over this information, Israel can then fill the tunnels with natural gas and explode them. The gas will fill all the branches and connecting tunnels and destroy everything. It's just a matted of getting Pres. Obama to had over the information.

Time to build an underground barrier (100mtrs deep) around Gaza. This should be booby trapped with thermo nuclear warheads and poison gas. You think I'm kidding . Consider this . . Hamas will rebuild the tunnels within the next year or so, and what then . . Watch this space.

Israel needs to separate the inveterate haters of the present from the haters of the future.That means separate the hamasian women & children from the monsters [their fathers,husbands,brothers,uncles etc. Use non lethal gases,loud sounds,etc to do so.Put the women and children into internment camps.Let the kids watch Lassie.Let the women watch Rachel Ray or read Ladies Home Journal.Give 'em a/c,food,tents,and decent drink.And keep doing this until the embers of the hamasian fire start to burn out.It might take a few years to do. And as for the fat family of North Korea who earn their living on the death and destruction of others...maybe someday we'll all be happy to read that they've had a few hotel "accidents". Aluf of Southern Command just said on channel 2 that they will take out all tunnels that cross the Israeli border. He did not say they would take out all the tunnels, and they can't. I am sure that there is an entire sub-city under the Gaza landscape and if the tunnels under hospitals, schools mosques and homes are taken out, the buildings above would collapse.

It is unacceptable since the tunnels traverse under schools and hospitals. If Israel fills the tunnel with gas and ignites it, they cannot warn the people above to get out. For all we know all the tunnels are interconnected and the explosion would remove Gaza from the world map.

The Politicians could set a goal for a Militaru operation but, leave it to the Military to carry it out according to their Miltary professionalism. This Halting and Stopping an operation every now and then, leave the initiative to the enemy when one loses the momentum. Why does those Civilians dont understand this, or why does not the Military tell them that. You can not wage War or Military operations like that. Civilian Politicians should not interviene in militarry operations untill its goal are reached. Arn.
