Sorry to say this boys .... but the media war is just as important as the military one.
2. no matter.. it's best that tunnel destruction proceed slowly
Rafi ,   US   (07.31.14)
methodically - and safely - from the IDF standpoint. It could take another month at least.
3. number one target and number two
Larry ,   LA (formerly)   (07.31.14)
The first and most important target is to eliminate the Hamas leadership from Gaza. Without doing such will only beget another war in 3-5 years. To eliminate the tunnels and not eliminate the leadership means that they will rebuild deeper and stronger tunnels, plus import better missiles with improved guidance systems and the ability to get around the Iron Dome. It is obvious that a cease fire is an open invitation to another bigger and more lethal war in a few more years. Only the elimination of Hamas and its leadership will solve the problem; not a political solution.
4. Infr5ared surveillance
Sherlock Holmes ,   London England   (07.31.14)
American infrared survellance suggests about 60 tunnels, so the IDF is far from finished.
5. Where the Israel of 1967?
Philip Barnett ,   London , UK   (07.31.14)
Why did you let Hamas build those tunnels and take you by surprise? Why did you fall into Hamas trap? Too many questions which have only one answer. Make Hamas pay the price : carpet bomb them and when you finish just thrown one or two nuclear bombs to clear Gaza once for all.
6. IDF just wasting resources and effort...
John ,   JHB SA   (07.31.14)
The Gazans are undeterred and will build more and better defensive structures. There is no military solution to this conflict, eventually the oppressed will overcome the oppressor as has happened throughout history. The days of the cruel zionist terrorist state are numbered, the countdown has begun!!!
7. they must have used satnav
ky   (07.31.14)
Digging tunnels can be a very hit and miss business. anyone who has read second world war escape stories will know how hard it is to get the exit right. They must have calculated the exact exit location by using google maps . But it strikes me that tunnels are a two way thing , before blowing them all up is there any way they can be used by the IDF to their advantage ?.
8. Israel beware....
Nathan Rai ,   Bangalore   (07.31.14)
I see most media reports as reporting on Israel vs the Palestinians. Israel must use every forum to stress that this is not Israel vs the Palestinians but Israel vs Hamas. Hamas is a bunch of rabid cowards who hide behind women and children , who think building tunnels is more important than building schools, hospitals and other public utilities. Think and speak Israel. For your today is our tomorrow.
9. civilian population is Hamas biggest weapon
Lemmings Hotline ,   sd usa   (08.01.14)
If Israel could intern the civilian population, then it could easily surgically remove the Hamas infrastructure and command and control centers.
10. 7.
Birdi ,   Israel   (08.01.14)
If they could be used for our advantage, the IDF would'nt blow them up.

Birdi ,   Israel is ours.   (08.01.14)
And we are more determined to protect our citizens from Hamas's terror tactics. You slap us in the face, we wont turn our cheek, we will slap you back, harder. We got the means, we got the power, most important, we have the land. It's ours. We are not leaving & we will never give up. Oppressors or not, we dont give a hoot what you think of us.

It sure is. Remember we investigate all the lies. The truth comes out, every time.

Birdi ,   Israel   (08.01.14)
We eliminate Hamas & what do we get in its place? Have you thought of that? Even if Abbas would control Gaza you think he is a match for Isis? Israel has one big huge problem to overcome, namely, who runs Gaza.
