Israel's responsibility is to the citizens of Israel, whom they have an affirmative duty to protect and defend. Any civilian deaths in Gaza accrue exclusively to the responsibility of Hamas.

However, when it became clear that Iron Dome and Trophy allowed Israel to clean up Hamas with relatively light casualties, Obama entered the fray, closing Israel's airport, threatening Netanyahu with severe sanctions and coordinating 1938-style blood libels. It will be a very long war unless Americans elect a different President, just ask the Christians and the Kurds.

If Israel fights like before-not deliberate targeting of civilians-thenit certainly will not be a short war.Also if Israel gets another 100 casualties the public will demand stop-the cost will be too large sand Hamas will declare victory and they will still be in Gaza.Hamas does not care about their casualties.That's my opinion.
