1. Lapid
Rick ,   USA   (08.08.14)
Yair, combat is on again. Please step aside and let the adults handle it. You can go back to your tantrums after it's all over.
2. poor little Lapid has a bruised ego
zionist forever   (08.08.14)
Bibi has never trusted Lapid and didn't even want him in the coalition but he needed the numbers. Obama has been openly hostile toward Israel from the day he took office and that was before the election that brought Lapid into the coalition and since Kerry came on the scene things have been twice as bad. Lapid has a bruised ego and is right now flexing his new found muscles because the Yisrael Beitanu / Likud alliance has ended so the parties have gone their separate ways and now Likud & Yesh Atid both have only 19 seats so now Lapid has real power and he intends to use it. I think we can expect alot more trouble making from Lapid and there will probably come a point where Bibi says enough is enough I can't work with Lapid anymore and hold elections.
3. Netanyahu has focus and talent that no other politician has.
Adi ,   Israel   (08.08.14)
Netanyahu has focus and talent that no other politician has. Some people can lead and others deputy. It amounts to betrayal if Lapid has pushed his political aspirations in a time of conflict.
4. Patton and Montgomery got on Badly
Zechariah   (08.08.14)
In the past allies disagreed .Patton and Montgomery got on badly and Eisenhower had to mediate .Also Churchill and Roosevelt disagreed strongly over Stalin. But it was censored .Now at a Time of National Crises the Press Plays for Ratings .Some People Thrive on disputes .Even Freud believed everyone needs an enemy .Hamas the PLO all the Arabs would massacre the Jews if they had the Power .The USA ought know this .Tempers and Egos Flare .But the MassMurder AntiSemites need to be Deterred Solidly.
5. Let me help you with this.
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (08.08.14)
Kerry will sell his own comrades out for a tele prompter in the lime light. He's in this for one thing...narcism on his part...and power. Obama is no different. Kerry stands in front of a mirror in the morning telling himself how great he is. Obama stares into the mirror of a golf cart ...on the nearest green ...telling himself how great he looks. Great news...two more years...and they are both gone. Have you noticed nothing ha been done by either... other than withdrawel...and appeasement?
6. Give us a break

8. Oh, stop it ! From an ex-pat, I tell you that
barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (08.08.14)
Kerry, et.al. not doing much better at ceasefire efforts with Ukraine-Russa or ISIS-Iraq. So, this time Lapid, I agree with Bibi that U.S. admin are full of leftists that don't know their right from left hand.
9. Lapid

Bibi Has Nothing to do with the Israeli- us realationship, This Whole Mess is the FAULT of non-other than b.H.o., you know the muzzie/community organizer!!! Yair if you think you can do a better job than Bibi, then You should run for Prime Minister? Shabbat Shalom
10. Lapid, Bibi, US relations
Marcia Zax ,   USA   (08.08.14)
Bibi was just interviewed by Hannity yesterday and he did a fantastic job. I just hope his message gets widespread publicity. Israel must protect itself and was right to be disturbed when Kerry sought advice from Qatar re:ceasefire with Hamas, Qatar being the biggest funder of Hamas. On the other hand, Qatar is a US ally in that our biggest military base is there, so American interests are somewhat different, and that is a necessary consideration for the US. I would be for a 2 state solution if it could still assure Israeli security and I do hope it can be achieved someday. I am a NYTImes subscriber and I am disgusted by their lack of balance in news reporting from the Middle East. Thank you to Israeli news in English and the IDF blogs for getting the word out to the English speakers of the world. I also read some of the Hebrew news but it is slower going...
11. Not science fiction. Fantasy.
Lev ,   Ashkelon, Israel   (08.08.14)
those who call Kerry's initiative "science fiction" are close to being right. It probably belongs to an adjacent genre called "fantasy." How else can one call an effort to arrange talks between two parties one of which is bent on totally destroying the other? What is there to discuss - the conditions of such destruction? America has no friends - America has interests. Apparently one of these interests is to keep the Israeli-Arab confrontation going on (there are numerous arguments to support this claim). However, sooner or later our leaders will have to stop playing by the American rules. Such independence will come at a price - but the earlier we pay this price and proceed, the better.
12. Reply to #2 great analysis
Adler S.   (08.08.14)
"because the Yisrael Beitanu / Likud alliance has ended so the parties have gone their separate ways and now Likud & Yesh Atid both have only 19 seats so now Lapid has real power and he intends to use it" Lapid had always power, even if ordinary people like you or me doesnt recognize it. Netanyahu is stubborn and is not an easy going politician. Is in his nature.
13. Stop Lapid's temporary party from doing permanent damage.
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.08.14)
Israel has been cursed by awful temporary parties like Lapid's Yesh Atid, Kadima, Hatnua and Shinnui. These leftist parties appear, damage Israel greatly and vanish in a couple of election cycles. We must stop mindless Lapid and his awful temporary party from permanently damaging Israel.
14. 100% SURE that Lapid, Livni, Weinstein et al..........
Samuel ,   Israel   (08.08.14)
are ALL getting paid off under the table to support the US and IMF's of the world. For the elite its always all about money. They know THEY will never be killed in a war that others fight for THEM.
15. Kerry+Obama are Leftists who want Israel to suck up to Pals
Sam ,   Canada   (08.08.14)
Kerry and Obama are Leftists with a mindset to be conciliatory to the enemy. If it was up to them Israel would give Abbas a state and relieve the Hamas blockade. That Abbas and Hamas both want to destroy Israel is beyond them. So, Netanyahu has to deal with reality while Kerry and Obama breathe down his neck. Maybe there is some room to be conciliatory but not to the extent Kerry and Obama with their own agenda want it.
16. Leftists
Michael ,   Kokhav Yair   (08.08.14)
Leftists are great during peacetime giving free stuff to everyone. During war they are a menace.
17. resign then
(08.08.14)
Israel could have defeated Hamas at low cost under the Egyptian cease fire proposal, supported by Saudi Arabia and Lapid's darling Abbas. It was Kerry and Obama who stepped in and saved Hamas from the Egyptian cease fire, forcing another week of combat, closing Ben Gurion airport and preventing a Hamas defeat. If Lapid thinks it is more important to support Hamas, Obama and Kerry then Egypt and Abbas (not to mention Netanyahu), he should resign and force new elections
18. Whose side is Lapid on?
Brod ,   USA   (08.08.14)
Lapid has no right criticizing the PM. Whose side is he on? Is he on the side of Obama the Islamist and Kerry the Papist Anti-Semites or is he on the side of Israel? Obama and Kerry have no right trying to divide and rule Israel by way of proxies. It is time Israel stands strong against external entities undermining her. To strengthen his government, the PM should reappoint Danon back to his job. And he should fire those in government that are being used and manipulated by external entities to undermine Israel's government. Lapid should apologize to the PM and stop communicating with Kerry or other external entities as if he is the PM of Israel. Should he refuse, the PM should fire him. In a time of national crisis when the nation is at war with external aggressors, the government should not tolerate any Judases. Israel should stand strong, united and resolute against any external entities trying to undermine her.
