1. Permanent cease-fire?
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.14.14)
Then how does one explain this: "Turning to the residents of Gaza, al-Haya promised to rebuild all of the houses that were destroyed from Israeli bombardments, and vowed to punish Israel for that. 'One day we'll go after Israel for that,' he said." Do you know how you can tell a "palestinian" is lying? His lips are moving. No lifting of the Gaza blockade. No seaport. No airport. What Israel should really do is cut off all humanitarian aid, and stop supplying free food and free fresh water. Let the United Nations Human Rights Commission foot the bill, and figure out the logistics. It will be quite a task, keeping in mind that Israel will not tolerate any breaches of its fully legal and internationally recognized blockade. Human rights crisis in Gaza? For sure. But Hamas is responsible for it, not Israel. Go after the criminal terrorists, not a sovereign state with an affirmative duty to protect and defend its citizens.
2. Truly
Aharon ,   Jerusalem Israel   (08.14.14)
A recipe for suicide am further bloody conflicts as outlined here.
3. What's with all the trash talk
arne ,   chicago usa   (08.15.14)
.Peace is what's in Israel's best interest. What they did to Gaza was a warning for all to see.I think before anyone in the neighborhood gets any bold ideas they only have to look at Gaza.I hope they rebuild Gaza and make it a nice place to live so as they won't start their crap again .Good luck Bibi you were great
4. If no disarming of Hamas, this is only a hudna.
David ,   Hartford USA   (08.14.14)
This cannot be allowed. Israel must insist on hamas disarming. I doubt Egypt would permit such a one-sided 'agreement.' "We won't try to kill you if you give us everything we want. But we won't change our charter, won't disarm, won't stop calling for jihad, and won't promise not to attack you in the future." If this is the deal, Bib had better forget how to sign his name and tell the army to 'mount up!'
5. Protective edge is a Farce -
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (08.14.14)
- it has achieved nothing, and the more than 60 Israeli lives was sacrificed for nothing. Obama and the Israeli PM, whom of them is the Biggest Fool and Idiot ?. Two civilian Usefull Idiots. Israel must now in the future destroy Hamas in order for a permanent Peace. Arn.
6. above
moishe   (08.15.14)
Hamas blinked! will Gazans learn from this latest war on Israel? doubt it.
7. breakthrough?
BAB ,   Jerusalem   (08.15.14)
OK, so I guess this means that Hamas won this round? We knew it was an asymmetric war, but asymmetry is not supposed to describe the outcome!
8. 1
yonatan Allon ,   adelaide/Israel   (08.15.14)
You are 100% correct. But most of what you say is not going to happen.
9. Truce
Mark ,   San Diego USA   (08.15.14)
It is appalling to think that Israel would even dream of caving in and capitulating to a group of uncivilized rabid dogs who in the midst of negotiating a truce still spit out threats that even if they agree to a truce, they still vow to destroy all Jews. Obviously they feel that Israel is now just a country run by weak cowards who are afraid of world opinion and are willing to cave in to a rag tag sewer rat terrorist organization demands at the risk of Israeli citizens. What a shame to think that a country once so strong and fearless that they were able to destroy their enemies in a week.
10. Cease fire
Elliott ,   Sammamish, USA   (08.15.14)
If this is true then.maybe Israel should sell them the Iron Dome as we'll,,..??.
