Today we open Gaza in exchange for Hamas stopping rocket fire until a long term deal is done. In exchange we open up the Gaza border getting nothing in exchange not even the bodies of the dead soldiers. Next month Abbas will negotiate demand his ports and the prisoner releases in exchange for a long term ceasefire ( not demilitarisation ) and if we are lucky a couple of corpses in exchange for a couple of thousand terrorists. The world will support Abbas demands as will Israel's left and probably Lapid if he thinks it will be a vote winner. Hamas gets everything they want its just the deeds are in Fatahs name. This is a trap & Bibi must not agree to it or he will have handed victory to Hamas.
4. permanent ceasefire with Hamas?

with Hamas, the biggest liars in the Arab world would give a PERMANENT ceasefire? ha ha ha! Let us not be so stupid that we will have 120 years of blissful peace with this terror enemy!
5. When they say "border crossings ..."
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.17.14)
... they mean Rafah, correct? Because I cannot think of a single reason why Israel should open the border crossing with Gaza. There is no reason for it. We are not going to allow Gazans to work in Israel, no matter how desperate their financial circumstances and no matter how high the rate of unemployment in Gaza. Gaza's so-called "leadership" are billionaires, a distinction which they achieved through hard theft of funds intended for the people of Gaza. If Hamas had invested in growing Gaza's economy instead of spending the money on attacking Israel (see how well that worked out for them), Gaza wouldn't have a crisis. But that is hardly Israel's fault. Israel trucks in humanitarian aid -- tens of thousands of metric tons each week; Israel provides free fresh water and Israel provides free electricity. Israel allows Gaza's sick to be treated -- free -- in Israeli hospitals. So I really don't understand the need for Israel to open the border crossings. The question to be asked is why is this such a sticking point for Hamas? Why do they insist that the border crossings be open? None of the answers quite reach the level of "reasonable." Hamas and other Islamic elements continue to insist that they will not rest until Israel is destroyed; that remains their guiding principle. When that changes, we can revisit the issue of the border crossings. Right now, there is no reason to open them. There are a great many people -- myself among them -- who think that the border crossings should be hermetically sealed. Let the Qataris treat Gaza's sick; let the Qataris provide them with potable water and with electricity; let the Qataris provide tens of thousands of metric tons of humanitarian aid. And I hope that Israel will continue to monitor its naval blockade quite closely, and diligently patrol the three mile fishing limit. You know that those who do not have Israel's best interests at heart will use the expanded fishing limit to smuggle arms into Gaza. That's another concession I would not have made. In fact, Israel should insist on the repatriation of the remains of the two Israeli soldiers before discussing anything else.

think that the border crossings should be hermetically sealed" Unfortunatley for us all, King Bibi the Weak does not appear to be one of these people, and he makes the decisons.
