1. "Cease" means permanently
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (08.25.14)
But, the Arabs do not understand this concept. They are merely biding time and are already restocking for the next round of aggression. They are totally illogical and are infantile when it comes to understanding the simple words, "stop already". Their joy is to simply be a bothersome and irksome nuisance to Israel and the Jews. I find it so, so tragic, since so many people of the greater Arab nation are descent and good human beings who deserve a rational and truly peace-loving, cooperative leadership.
2. Nothing short of a humiliating surrender...
Shep Fargotstein ,   Memphis, TN - USA   (08.25.14)
Let there be no mistake, anything short of a humiliating surrender will not enhance Israel's image to deter others from "messing with Israel" to quote PM Netanyahu. I realize Bibi has been walking the political/military tightrope with the international pressure to wage war delicately against an unconventional army that hides among civilians. BUT........the depopulation of Israeli villages surrounding Gaza due to consistent mortar fire, as well as the recent death of the small child leaves no choice BUT to let loose with the military option without constraints to pacify Gaza using whatever tools are in their tool belt. Concern about world opinion is more of a "day after" perspective vs. the demands "today" to preserve Israel's territorial integrity. The world press now has Gaza on the 2nd page, as they are bored with the back and for that has existed for over 45 days. Start in motion the IDF machine and as it squeezes Hamas they and their allies will either crawl out of their rat holes with white flags or die fighting. Either way, Israel will have the security it needs to grow the Negev.
3. Will Hamas transfer to Israel 3,000 missiles, or no deal?

"we cease, they fire" ceasefire, the Israeli public should demand his immediate resignation. No more rockets from Gaza, no more ceasefires until the "palestinians" are crawling on their bellys like worms begging for one.

Sure do hope someone other than Hamas will be supervising the transfer of materials to rebuild Gaza and NOT those tunnels.
9. Well, they might be ready ...
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.25.14)
... but perhaps Israel is not. More garbage disposal to do. Check back in a week.
10. A temprary ceasefire is a desaster
Nachman   (08.25.14)
Israel should make it clear a ceasefire will be only if Gaza will agree to demilitarize and will be permanent. Bar the aforementioned Israel should continue to strike their leaders military and political.
11. No ceasefire, only surrender
TC   (08.25.14)
